    Weighbridge Operator

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12/Matric

    Experience

    • Previous experience in the same or similar role

    Duties

    • To understand the functioning of the operating system
    • To accurately record and weigh all the inbound and outbound loads on the operating system which includes all raw materials and final products
    • To ensure that any weight deviation is recorded in the road variance report book and that corrective actions are taken immediately
    • To prepare reports when requested by Supervisors/Management
    • To maintain the admin systems at the weighbridge
    • To efficiently handle all internal and external customer queries
    • To maintain professional customer relations at all times
    • Responsible for accurate distribution of fertilizer

    SHERQ Manager - Manufacturing

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, chemistry, safety or equivalent 

    Advantageous Requirements

    • Process Safety Certificate

    Experience

    • 5 years demonstrated experience in SHERQ management in a mining/explosives or Manufacturing environment
    • 3 years demonstrated experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
    • 3 years demonstrated experience in people management

    Advantageous Requirements

    • 2 years demonstrated experience in SHERQ management systems
    • Prior experience in Mining Operations non-negotiable

    Duties

    Core Deliverables

    Achieved and improved operations SHERQ objectives

    • To assist in the development and implementation of a strategy to shape the SHERQ function within the various sites, and work closely with the site management team to deliver the SHERQ strategy and drive a SHERQ and continuous improvement culture
    • To implement and monitor the various SHE management programs in line with BME's strategy and safety objectives (RCR).
    • To assist in maintaining BME's ISO accreditation.

    Prevented/mitigated SHERQ risks and incidents

    • To assist in disseminating and communicating SHE initiatives, SHE information, and performance to business.
    • To identify training needs, and ensure compliance with SHERQ related legislation, policies and procedures.
    • To identify, develop and implement occupational wellness programs in accordance with the needs and risks identified
    • To identify and effectively manage risks to ensure zero harm.

    Implemented SHERQ frameworks to ensure continuous compliance

    • To verify data received; to conduct analysis and identify trends in order to compile the SHE reports as per the legal and company requirements.

    Rail Coordinator - Sasolburg

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 with Maths and Science
    • Relevant Safety qualification

    Experience

    • 3 – 5 Years’ Experience in a Railway related or safety field
    • Knowledge of OHSA, ISO standards and SANS 3000-1

    Duties

    Rail Logistics:

    • Continuous monitoring and expediting of railway wagons to ensure timely delivery of raw materials to different Omnia sites around the country and including Sasolburg
    • Daily communication with service providers, contractors and internal customers
    • Responsible to ensure that the rail off-loading of raw materials takes place in line with specifications and prescriptions at the main factory in Sasolburg
    • Oversee rail matters related to the safe handling of rail wagons as well as adhering to the requirements as prescribed by the Railway Safety Regulator
    • Ensure that raw materials are placed on time when requested from the Sasolburg Transnet station to Omnia Sasolburg facilities
    • Ensure that empty wagons are cleared timeously from the Sasolburg siding to Transnet Sasolburg station

    Safety:

    • Ensure safe operation of all railway activities at Omnia’s Sasolburg siding, and see to good and proper housekeeping of the rail designated areas
    • Monitor and manage contractors while they are on site by issuing the relevant documentation as required by Omnia 
    • Attend regular training to ensure compliance in terms of the Railway Safety Regulator Act as well as other legal requirements such as the OHSA, ISO and other relevant standards
    • Daily capturing and updating of information with regards to wagon movement and reporting 
    • Responsible for safe working on site, and adherence to the safe operation procedures and work instructions
