    Specialist: Application Support (13335)

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION AND MAINTENANCE OF STRATEGY

    • Provide input to the strategic information systems vision and direction for the business.
    • Execute the IT Strategy activities to achieve the objectives for the business.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3-5 years’ experience in software analysis and development experience in which 3 years’ experience in management of an IT application within a broadcasting environment and 2 years’ management experience in a corporate environment.

    Mainframe Developer: Analyst Programmer (13349)

    DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGY

    • Contribute to the execution of the IT development strategy by designing, developing and maintaining enterprise applications aligned to business priorities.
    • Provide technical input and advisory support for application development, DevOps enablement, integration and mainframe modernisation initiatives.
    • Engage with internal departments, business users and external stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into sustainable technical solutions.
    • Provide technical problem-solving leadership for complex application, integration and operational support matters.
    • Identify architectural, performance and process improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate remedial actions.

    BUSINESS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

    • Relevant IT NQF level 6 (National Diploma) qualification.
    • Relevant IT NQF level 7 (Degree) qualification is considered an advantage.
    • 3-5 years’ experience within a systems development environment, with exposure to the full System Development Life Cycle.
    • Mainframe development experience, preferably including Natural ONE, Natural and ADABAS.

     KNOWLEDGE

    • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, ITIL practices, change control and application support processes.

    Bulletin Editor: SABC News Channel (13348)

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

    • Lead the team in identifying and selecting stories, compose rundowns in accordance with SABC News editorial objectives and the public mandate.
    • Lead effective and creative brainstorming sessions to determine content breadth and quality.
    • Working within tight deadlines, identify news stories appropriate for target audiences.
    • Manage and direct staff in the writing and timeous processing of news stories. 
    • Ensure the overall quality and accuracy of news content, language context, style, and tone.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Mother-tongue proficiency and exceptional writing skills in the designated language (English)

    Business Manager: EC Combo (13285)

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Develop and implement station strategy in line with overall SABC Radio strategy and business objectives.
    • Guide the development and implementation of programming and marketing plans aligned to audience needs and mandate obligations.

    • Completion of 12 months internship programme with SABC in sound engineering ending by 31 March 2023
    • This appointment will be made in line with the developmental principles as per the SABC Recruitment policy, whereby candidates will be appointed on a One year development programme in order to gain the required experience within the Broadcast Technical environment.
    • Willing to be rotated in other relevant applicable disciplines
    • Minimum 1 years’ relevant experience (internship recognised and experiential training as part of the National Diploma qualification) in the technical environment
    • Driver’s License: C1 (Code 10) with PDP.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • IT Network knowledge Essential. Computer literate (A+) and Network knowledge (N+)
    • IT Network knowledge advantage CISCO CCNA (ICDN1 +ICDN2) certified.
    • Physical attributes: Excellent hearing and eyesight (no colour blindness). Physically able.
