    Packaging Assistant

    A day in the life of a Packaging Assistant:

    Executes one or more of the following Packing Functions on the Filling lines where applicable in a factory.

    • Pallet Stacking - Stacks finished or semi-finished product onto pallets. According to packing/palletizing standards. Packing finished product units into Display Trays / Outers / Cartons.
    • Tray / carton erecting to ensure sufficient supply to running line.
    • Stretch Wrap completed pallets.

    Handling of finished goods/products 

    • Stacking, Stitching, Folding, Sealing, Manual Filling and manual Coding of bulk bags according to set operating standards.
    • Follows all operational and food safety procedures including the use of safety/hygiene equipment as instructed                                                        
    • Records appropriate information as required. (Opening/Closing stock).
    • Performs any reasonable duties as he/she may be instructed by superiors                                                                                  

    What will make you successful?

    • Must have Matric with Math’s and Science added advantage to provide necessary level of reading, writing and simple arithmetic.
    • 1 year of experience working in fast paced Packaging machinery/equipment

    Skilled Operator

    A day in the life of a Skilled Operator:

    Line Preparation, Changeover of Filling Equipment to fill different sizes and Products.

    • Assist Line Fitter in setting up Filling Machines, Labeller, Collator/Shrink wrapper, De-Palletiser as per POP for planned product & size.                                            
    • Calibrate scales for size being filled.                                                                                             

    Operation of Filling & Packaging equipment

    • At Start-up, ensure all machine parts are intact on Filling Machines, Labeller, Collator/Shrink wrapper, De-Palletiser,                                          
    • Ensure that line starts up on time.                                                     
    • Make appropriate adjustments as per procedure to achieve net mass and hourly outputs to achieve targets, contact Team Leader and/or HOD in case of deviation.                                         

    QA Functions

    • Conduct CP checks on Vibratory Feeder sieves, Tote Tilt vibrator sieves & record                             
    • CCP control on  Metal detectors (Validate metal detector samples)                                          
    • Net Mass Control - Check packets on Free Weigh and record as per SOP                                   

    Data Capture – SAM, SAP                                                      

    • Material declaration (GR, print SSCC labels MGTO5 and pallet recording on pallet control sheet.
    • Perform SAM transactions - Capture stoppages as per occurrences with reason codes, Capture hourly/shift production outputs.                                                 
    • End of Shift/Production                                                                                   
    • Attend and actively participate in all MDWT meetings.                                              
    • Assist in Training New Operators                                                       
    • Substitute as Team Leader in his absence or when so requested.                             

    What will make you successful?

    • Minimum Grade12 or equivalent
    • Knowledge and skill in operating flow wrapping machines

    Semi Skilled

    Medical Delegate Nestle Infant Nutrition (NIN)- 6 Month Contract

    Position Summary

    • To achieve recommendation and advocacy of Nestlé Infant Nutrition (NIN) products with Health Care Professionals and Institutions. Responsible for ethical and science-based detailing of Nestle Infant Nutrition products in the 1st 1000 days.

    A day in the life of a Medical Delegate:

    Product and concept detailing in the assigned territory:

    • Apply Professional Negotiation Skills at an advanced level and use the appropriate product, concept knowledge and research to detail the NIN range to HCPs.

    Territory management

    • Manage the assigned territory of about 250 - 300 HCPs including HCI’s in assigned territory.
    • Achievement of field force effectiveness as per Master data management/HCP classification/ HCP and HCI segmentation, master schedule planning, HCP call rate, call strike rate and execution of territory action plans.
    • Execution of “hybrid/remote interaction model”.

    Compliance

    • Application of the Code Management system guiding compliance for all daily activities, to assist the leadership team to ensure that all activities within the team and region, comply with the WHO International Code for the marketing of Breastmilk substitutes, Nestle Instructions, and the local Code.

    Advocacy:

    • Ensure increased advocacy towards Nestle Infant Nutrition products and Nestle Nutrition services, when detailing to HCP's and HCI’s, through applying the acquired functional competency skills and key account management.
    • Seek and build strategic relationships with key contacts in both private and government sector.
    • Driving recommendation / advocacy at an Institutional level and with Health Care Professionals.

    What will make you successful?

    • BSc Dietetics/ Nutrition, Nursing, Marketing, and Business Management degree holder
    • 2 years’ experience in Medical Delegate role or a representative in the pharmaceutical industry will be a benefit.
    • Experience with data management using a digital device and MS Excel intermediate experience required.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be able to speak English fluently– additional languages are beneficial.
    • Must have good planning, organizing, communication and negotiation skills.
    • Must be able to work independently, self-starter, solution orientated, adaptable and result driven.
    • Must be willing to travel (including trips away from home).
    • Computer literate, MS Office, MS Excel intermediate level with data analysis experience
    • Experience with virtual engagement.

    A day in the life of a Transportation Hub Lead:

    Fitter

    A day in the life of a Fitter:

    • Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant.                                                
    • Incumbent has to be pro-active and prevent breakdowns on his/her patrols and shows initiative to continuously improve equipment performance.                                                 
    • Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment.                                             
    • Follow up and recommend actions to overcome and improve problems encountered 
    • Attend to mechanical faults and breakdowns in all areas of the factory.                                    
    • Analyzing, investigating, and eliminating re-current faults.                                          
    • Improve on functional maintenance, cleaning and reliability of equipment               
    • Manage minor projects and contractors in Industrial Services                                                  
    • Plant knowledge and able to operate all industrial services equipment

    • Ensure machine reliability and availability for production targets to be met.                   
    • Undertakes to work shift, standby and overtime as per company requirements.                    
    • Lockout & permit procedure to be used at all times when any person could be exposed to danger. 
    • Ensure any dangerous conditions must be made safe immediately.                                          
    • To correct errors on drawings and update drawings.                                      
    • Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, PMO`s.                                      
    • Actively involved in projects and TPM                                                 
    • Interact with production people.                                                   
    • Interact with suppliers.                                                     
    • Interact with contractors.

    What will make you successful?

    • Grade 12 (Maths and Science) and Fitter Trade Test
    • 2-3 years’ experience as a Fitter, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting 
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
    • Skilled in using precision tools, machining equipment, and hand tools.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals.
    • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults effectively.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Good communications and teamwork skills
    • Good awareness of safety and quality standards.
