    Artisan Electro Mechanic x13

    Purpose of Job

    • To support production by providing effective electro-mechanical equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant, mine and/or equipment.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Proven competence in pre-identified areas per discipline of the plant/mine/equipment/systems.
    • Understand and use the plant maintenance documentation system.
    • Understand planning work management system.
    • Relevant plant/mine specific/basic process knowledge (defined per discipline).
    • Compliance of Safety Management Systems e.g. IMS, MBO, etc.
    • Able to apply emergency procedures.
    • Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessment.
    • Hazard identification/task risk assessments.
    • Participates in daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments.
    • Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines.
    • Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress.
    • Participates in root cause analyses, and provides feedback to RCA teams.
    • Participates in risk assessments according to legislation and company requirements to improve safety.
    • Maintains good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal procedures.
    • Share knowledge with junior artisans in known environment/context.
    • Participates in quarterly performance appraisal with group leader to improve personal development.
    • Identifies personal training and development needs, and incorporates into PDP with group leader's approval.

    • Conducts My IMS (physical inspections to maintain and improve plant sustainability).

    • Attends and interacts in PDAs and RCAs to improve plant safety and stability.
    • Provides adequate feedback to group leader or planning officer on work progress.
    • Ensures the correct history feedback is captured to improve renewals/ upgrades and critical spares are replaced.
    • Gives input at toolbox talks to improve plant safety.

    Formal Education

    • National Senior Certificate with Mathematics, Physical Science and English
    • Occupational Trade Certificate (Electronic Mechanic)
    • Flameproof Certificate
    • Competent A Certificate
    • Gas Testing Certificate
    • Valid driver’s license

    • Experience: 4+ relevant years

    Storeman

    Purpose of Job

    • Responsible for the execution and handling of all warehouse processes of Receiving, Binning, Storage and Issuing of Direct and Indirect Materials to BU Production and Maintenance.
    • Adherence to legislation, safety requirements, policies, procedures and document management.
    • Responsible for the day to day execution of assigned workload through materials handling equipment or physical /manual handling, within the team in order to ensure the warehouse operational targets are met.
    • Responsible for custody, care and control of stock, storage facilities and equipment in the area of responsibility.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Effective management of day to day operations (Receiving, binning, storage and picking of materials).
    • Ensure best material handling and storage practices are executed.
    • Ensure safe and compliant working environment.
    • On the job training /SAP transactional training quality content, on time delivery and effective training methods.
    • Assist other Inbound warehouse departments during quiet periods.
    • Adherence to policies, procedures, rules and governance requirements.
    • To compile and maintain all necessary documents, records, reports and logbooks.

    Formal Education

    Purpose of Job

    Senior Technician Instrument

    Purpose of Job

    • Accountable for system and field instrument technical support to Gas Loop plant area by applying theoretical skills and making suggestions and independently implementing solutions to optimize systems with respect to unit operations, modifications, information gathering, data accumulation, basic processing and reporting. Use practical & experimental expertise to initiate & scope innovative and pro-active solutions to add value to maintenance and small projects. Develop and manage long-term strategies for the Gas Loop instrumentation systems. Provide technical support to project teams with respect to information gathering, data accumulation, basic processing, and reporting.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Execute appropriate maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and control systems. Implement technical solutions based on practical and theoretical knowledge to multi-disciplinary project teams. Participate in upgrading instruments and installing new instrument and control systems for assigned projects. Examine existing instrumentation and control engineering criteria to determine necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated instruments. Provide technical inputs and recommendations to install, upgrade, or enhance new or existing instruments. Adjust control systems and perform operational tests of items for specified performance characteristics. Utilise accurate Distributed Control System (DCS) techniques to enhance performance. Conduct Failure Trend Analysis (FTA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Propose ways to prevent future failure occurrences and modifications to procedures. Use predictive maintenance processes to identify and mitigate risks and avoid backlogs. Investigate and report incidents within set of guidelines. Carry out immediate corrective actions. Gather, track, and analyse graphs and statistical information. Generate reports and submit them to project teams. Manage administrative and documentation requirements for tasks such as configuration backups, software revisions, downloading configuration changes, graphics development and modification, and implementing software changes of design. Comply with condition monitoring programmes, engineering governance bodies, engineering standard operating procedures, and engineering principles and legislations. Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations. Implement Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework. Build and maintain positive relationships with team members and other relevant stakeholders to optimise the reliability and availability of instruments and control systems. Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals. Provide day-to-day troubleshooting assistance for instrumentation and controls to avoid or minimize production upsets and/or downtime.

    Formal Education

    • Post School Tertiary Diploma/ National Diploma Electrical Light Current with 7 years relevant experience or B Tech Electrical Light Current with 6 years relevant experience

    • Practical experience of the Sasol processes/procedures would be an advantage
    • 6 - 7 years relevant electrical experience
