    Occupational Therapist - Independent Contractor (JHB North)

    Duties (not an exhaustive list):

    • Support the collaborative structure of the Academic Support Unit
    • Work closely with pupils, parents, and fellow teaching staff to assist those in need of intervention
    • Have the ability to run an independent practice, including billing, invoicing and report writing
    • Conduct pupil assessments to determine occupational therapy needs
    • Develop individual therapy plans, make necessary referrals, and assist with implementing necessary classroom strategies in collaboration with the Head of ASU
    • Manage and maintain pupil records – consolidating data from the classroom and therapy sessions
    • Regular feedback to parents required
    • Promotion of the St Peter's Prep Schools attributes and values
    • It is a part-time position - 1-2 mornings a week

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with the HPCSA 
    • Have an independent practice number/registered with BHF
    • Have Medical Insurance or be willing to undertake obtaining this insurance
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting
    • Completed Training in Sensory Integration Therapy through SAISI

    Boys Senior Prep Mathematics Teacher

    Duties (not an exhaustive list):

    • Teaching from grade 4 to 7
    • Mentor, support and develop intern teachers
    • Participate in extracurricular activities as required, including Saturday sports fixtures
    • Promotion of the St Peter's Prep Schools attributes and values

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • Relevant Qualification
    • Must be a Mathematics Specialist
    • At least 3 years full-time experience teaching
    • SACE Registration
    • An ability and willingness to teach English and Social Science is an advantage
    • The ability to coach Boys' sports would be an advantage

    Media Research Specialist / Librarian (Part-Time)

    Duties (not an exhaustive list):

    • Develop a passion and love for reading among the boys
    • Managing and implementing schoolwide reading programs
    • Manage all library functions (sourcing, cataloguing, distribution of materials, etc.)
    • Guide boys’ reading according to individual interests and abilities
    • Support the boys' learning by the facilitation of research, prompting inquiry and inspiring reading
    • Create a culture and an environment, in which reading is valued, supported, and encouraged
    • Plan and co-ordinate ‘Book Week’, set up Book Displays and creative displays to encourage reading
    • Create a library environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of students.
    • Recommend budget for the library
    • Promotion of the St Peter's Prep Schools attributes and values
    • Teach according to the St Peter's Prep Schools Best Practice pedagogy
    • The working hours will be from 07:15 – 13:00, Monday - Friday

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • 3 years of library experience
    • Excellent command of the English language
    • MS-Office proficient
    • SACE Registered
