    Artisan: Refrigerant

    Main purpose of the role

    • To ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and cooling systems supporting SABC’s 24/7 operations, including server rooms, TV studios, and radio studios, which require continuous environmental control.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform planned and preventative maintenance on all refrigeration and HVAC systems.
    • Diagnose and repair faults on chillers, AHUs, split units, and cooling systems.
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
    • Monitor and maintain optimal cooling conditions for critical environments (server rooms, TV and radio studios).
    • Respond to breakdowns and emergencies in a 24/7 operational environment.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
    • Maintenance and servicing of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers up to 2.5 MW capacity.
    • Servicing and maintenance of Air Handling Units (AHUs).
    • Exposure to HVAC control systems (preferably Johnson Controls).

    INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications:

    • National Technical Certificate (N3) or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 4).
    • Qualified Refrigeration Artisan / Refrigeration Trade Test Certificate. 
    • Safe Handling of Refrigerants Competency Certificate.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. 

    Technical Experience Required:

    • Maintenance and servicing of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers up to 2.5 MW capacity.
    • Experience working with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
    • Servicing and maintenance of Air Handling Units (AHUs).
    • Experience with split unit systems.
    • Experience with cold/cooled rooms.
    • Exposure to HVAC control systems (preferably Johnson Controls).

    Main purpose of the position

    • To grow sustainable SABC revenue and market share through the sale of radio-related advertising, sponsorship and associated products, services and solutions across its portfolio of linear, audio and digital platforms within Radio Sales.     Key Account Specialist: Video Entertainment

    Main purpose of the position

    • The core function of this role is to sell integrated solutions within the SABC eco-system. The role primarily consists of managing and overseeing a portfolio of advertisers’ accounts and agencies. Accountability includes, but is not limited to, being a liaison for clients and ensuring customer satisfaction by proactively addressing clients’ needs and facilitating the entire sale process.     • Conduct need analyses of all client’s in portfolio in order to understand needs, identify opportunities.

    Qualifications and experience

    • Knowledge and experience in integrated/digital sales solutions would be advantageous.

    Supervisor: Mechanical Maintenance

     MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • To supervise; a planned maintenance schedule, ad-hoc repairs, and installations of all mechanical equipment to buildings and all broadcast facilities, in order to ensure the maximum effectiveness of these systems.

    Executive Producer SABC News Channel 1

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    • To deliver programming of the highest editorial and journalistic standards in accordance with the public mandate and SABC News’ strategic and editorial objectives.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Identify, commission, and assign news and current content based on strength, quality, depth, and newsworthiness in accordance with the public mandate and SABC News’ editorial and strategic objectives. 
    • Take final responsibility for the editorial quality of the shows.
    • Account for overall audience performance of the programme.
    • Review and adjust programming to the changing needs of audiences.
    • Ensure that all programming adheres to the SABC Editorial Policies regarding the plurality of voices and diversity of views.
    • Make use of interactive screens, infographics, and audiovisual collages to enhance the quality of programming.
    • Ensure balance and fairness in the content and representation of multiple perspectives.

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 

    • To grow sustainable SABC revenue and market share through the sale of radio-related advertising, sponsorship and associated products, services and solutions across its portfolio of linear, audio and digital platforms within Radio Sales. This will be achieved through working with a select portfolio of radio stations as a high-performing sponsorship and product specialist, with focused responsibility for building commercial relationships and exploiting opportunities to meet SABC content sponsorship revenue needs and requirements within the assigned radio portfolio of stations.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

    • Develop a comprehensive sponsorship strategy and plan with the Senior Product Manager and the Head of Sales, in alignment with the allocated Radio Channel / s, to achieve revenue targets and grow market share with the Radio segment of the broadcast media marketplace. 
    • Match brands' marketing goals with the Radio program’s audience, negotiating terms like cost, placement frequency, and creative control. Collaborate with advertisers, media planners, and channel executives to create tailored sponsorship deals that maximize visibility and impact for sponsors while generating revenue for the channel or production. 
    • Drive sponsorship and station sales in a professional, disciplined, structured and focused manner to achieve and exceed set sales targets within the Radio segment of the broadcast media marketplace.
