    Web Developer - Auckland Park

    PURPOSE

    • Effective and Efficient development, maintenance and enhancement of SABC Websites, Apps. Provide appropriated support in line with business operations

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    BUSINESS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

    • Develop SABC Apps Website/s (Internet/ Intranet to meet business and end user needs)
    • Web App development in accordance with coding standards and procedures and corporate identity

    Senior Reporter - Gauteng

    Main Purpose of the Position:

    • To identify, initiate, investigate, research and produce incisive journalism, that is fair, accurate and compelling in accordance with SABC News and Current Affairs’ editorial objectives and the public broadcasting mandate.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Conceptualise and produce stories for News and Current Affairs across platforms in accordance with SABC News’ editorial objectives and public mandate.

    MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • Effective and efficient facilitation of development and maintenance of the SAP Payroll and Time modules in support of business needs.

    Principal Technician - Western Cape

    MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • Effective & efficient support of technology, operations and resources to design, install, sustain and provide administration of broadcast systems/ facilities, equipment, servers and networks in order to ensure optimum, functional, secure and available facilities/ equipment for SABC Technology.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGY

    • Contribute and provide (technical) submissions to Divisional Strategy in alignment with the Corporate Plan and the Target Operating Model.

    Abap Developer - Auckland Park ( Re - Advertisement)

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • Develop and implement SAP enhancements and new functionalities in line with business requirements and best practice.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Responsible for the SAP Netweaver applications development in ECC, BW, and Enterprise Portal / UI5 Portal.
    • Design, build and test custom SAP technical solutions based on business requirements using ABAP OO, SAP UI5, SAP Fiori, SAP Web Dynpro and Dialog programmes.

    PURPOSE:

    • Test cases to provide means of reporting for actual results, failures (defect logging) / passes)
    • Continual liaison with management to ensure that test script comply with standards, test cases have been identified and test cycles are in line with planned deliverables
    • Updated testing documentation in line with system development always and to be easily retrievable/ accessible
    • Performed Test Execution and Evaluation of Current/ New Development/ Upgraded Systems or Software
    • Appropriate test protocol/ methodology applied
    • Accurate functional (including security), system integration, user acceptance and regression testing in different phases of system development to ensure optimal performance.
    • Quality assurance in each test cycle as per QA criteria
    • Constant review of system functionality using ‘cloned’ environment
    • Effective identification, documentation and logging of issues (e.g., queries, bugs, change requests) arising out of the testing process.
    • Immediate and accurate reporting of failures to line management

    • Contribute to the upkeep of a risk register to address risk issues.
    • Drive consistency in deployment and usage, including taxonomies, templates, master pages and security management.
    • Identify, analyse, respond to, and monitor IT risk.
    • Address Risk factors and events in a cost-effective manner.
    • Comply with SABC Financial Policy & Procedures
    • Participate in organisational OHS risks & secure the health, safety, and welfare of employees.

    STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

    • Partner with Legal and Compliance to maintain compliance with applicable laws and change in business by establishing the policies, controls that comprise the program.
    • Maintaining of professional working relationship with external and internal customers.
    • Develop proficiency in communicating with customers/ stakeholders and ensure key interactions are recorded.

    PERFORMANCE & TRAINING

    • Managing own performance and development.
    • Meet IT performance & quality standards.
    • Participate in formal reviews conducted bi-annually per IT unit team member in accordance with SABC Performance Management Policy
    • Compile Individual Development Plan (IDP) for yourself annually.
    • Participate in Individual coaching, counselling, and mentoring conducted on an ongoing basis to meet individual development needs.
    • Attend Training & Development in accordance with WSP

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS: National Diploma(NQF level 6) in Information Technology or relevant qualification.

    ADVANTAGE: • Testing Certification

    • SDLC Certification

    EXPERIENCE: • 5 years relevant testing experience within an IT corporate environment

    KNOWLEDGE: • Compiling complete test plan (test script)

    • Performing Test Execution and Evaluation of Current /New/ Upgraded Systems or Software
    • Developing, Updating and Maintaining Testing Standards and Procedures
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of quality assurance in each test cycle as per QA criteria.
    • Knowledge of a Software Development Lifecycle
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of end user core business processes.
    • Knowledge and understanding of relevant defect management tools e.g., Team track, JIRA, Clear quest, Serena Business Manager, Quality Centre
    • Advanced knowledge, understanding & application of information technology best practice (including platforms, applications, security, etc)
    • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems
    • Practical knowledge and use of test technologies and best practices.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; this includes communicating technical issues to non-technical personnel as well as communicating with clinical and administrative staff.
    • Ability to read and understand technical documentation
