    Mass Metrologist

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • The purpose of this role is to repair, calibrate and maintain the balances and weighing modules within the Smelter, Service Yard and Refinery.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Ensure that balances and weighing modules are in working order to minimise downtime and faults in the Refinery and Smelter.
    • Regularly perform proactive maintenance and calibrations on balances and weighing modules to deter any failures in adherence with scheduling.
    • Generation of calibration certificates.
    • Analysis of calibration data - Elimination of information and data errors.
    • Implementation of and adherence to the ISO17025 requirements.
    • Installation and configuration of weighing modules.
    • Liaise with procurement to ensure that the correct equipment and spares are available at all times.
    • Source parts, spares and equipment for general maintenance and all projects while ensuring that there’s cost efficiency and accuracy of components. Add technical input where required.
    • Strictly adhere to all SHEQ legislation regarding safety and machine maintenance.
    • Produce safety cards as required.
    • Adhere to the mass metrology maintenance schedule.

    Job Requirements
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Completed Matric qualification.
    • Mass Metrology certificate.
    • SANAS 17025 related certificates.
    • NLA Mertcert certification will be an advantage.
    • Must have at least worked in a maintenance or manufacturing plant for a minimum of 5 years.

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

    • Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Planning and organising skills.
    • Ability to identify and solve problems.

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Knowledge in calibrating and repairing of the balances and the weighing modules.
    • Understanding the processes of of planned and emergency maintenance.
    • Fault finding knowledge to identify and rectify faults on the balances and weighing modules.
    • Knowledge of tools  to determine the appropriate equipment required for certain duties.
    • Understanding of compliance knowledge.

    Junior Treasury Dealer and Administrator

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • The purpose of this role is to support the Treasury Front Office in ensuring the effective execution of trading activities and operational processes.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Execute daily sales transactions relating to the trading of coins, granules, minted bars and semi’s sales to local and international customers. Capture the trade/s in SAP and ensures supporting documentation is complete and filed.
    • Administer Coin production, sales and providing a daily update to internal staff members in the organisation.
    • Communicate to Production team by placing approved orders as required.
    • Accurate, timely and quality reporting as required.
    • Ensure compliance to policies and procedures as it relates to the Treasury functions.
    • Maintain and establish relationships with local customers.
    • Maintain and build relationships external stakeholders.
    • Comply with all the Rand Refinery Corporate Governance guidelines.
    • Report on any breaches as per delegation of authority to Manager Treasury Front Office
    • Always ensure compliance to the principles of the Agency model with all trading activities and within the risk parameters of the company
    • Adhere to agreed contracts between Rand Refinery and the retail customer.

    Job Requirements
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Completed Matric qualification.
    • Minimum of 12 months working experience within a Treasury environment.
    • A Treasury tertiary qualification in Finance or Economics will be an advantage.

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

    • Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
    • Communication skills.
    • Ability to identify and solve problems.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Able to clearly guide customers through the relevant dealing processes.
    • Planning and organising skills.

    KNOWLEDGE:

    • Ability to perform detailed and accurate calculations.
    • Have knowledge of the company treasury products and operations.
    • Ability to trade effectively in the money market.
    • Understand the industry and how it operates, knowledge of RRL specific processes regarding metal accounting and trading principles linked to physical metals.
    • Product knowledge - RRL products including production planning knowledge.
