    Marketing Specialist

    Overview    

    • The role will be responsible for supporting the execution of marketing strategies, events, and administrative functions. This role combines creative marketing execution with operational support, including procurement, invoicing, and stock management. The ideal candidate is organised, collaborative, and passionate about delivering impactful marketing experiences.

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

    Experience    

    •  2–4 years of experience in a marketing role, with exposure to events and admin functions preferably in the agriculture sector.

    Duties    
    Key Responsibilities:
    Marketing & Campaigns

    • Execute marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.
    • Create and manage content for social media, email marketing, blogs, and marketing materials.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy.
    • Collaborate with internal (local and global) teams to ensure brand consistency and alignment.

    Event Planning & Management

    • Plan and coordinate marketing events such as trade shows and internal activations.
    • Manage event logistics including venue booking, supplier coordination, catering, and branded materials.
    • Handle post-event reporting, feedback collection, and ROI analysis.

    Internal Communications

    • Support in internal communication campaign

    Administrative Support

    • Raise and process purchase orders (POs) for marketing-related expenses.
    • Track and manage invoices, ensuring timely approvals and payments.
    • Maintain accurate records of marketing spend and assist with budget tracking.
    • Liaise with finance and procurement departments to ensure compliance with internal processes.

    Stock & Asset Management

    • Monitor and manage marketing collateral and promotional stock levels.
    • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile inventory.
    • Coordinate the distribution of branded items to internal teams, events, and external partners.
    • Ensure proper storage and tracking of marketing assets.

    Digital & Content Marketing

    • Maintain and update the company website and digital platforms.
    • Support SEO/SEM efforts to improve online visibility.
    • Manage the company’s social media presence and engagement

    Job Competencies

    Junior Operations Manager

    Overview    

    • The purpose of this job is to assist with driving the strategy of operational excellence and continual process improvement by effectively managing and executing on the blasting service delivery process to customers in a way that meets (or exceeds) their tangible and intangible needs and enhances the relationships with them to ensure that BME will be their first-choice service provider.

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 (with Maths)
    • Blasting Ticket
    • Diploma (Mining or Mechanical or Explosives Engineering)
    • Certificate in Blasting Technology (Advantage)

    Experience    

    • 5 years demonstrated experience in managing multiple portfolio operations/site within mining/resource environment
    • 3 years demonstrated experience in business development in a mining/explosive’s environment
    • 3 years’ demonstrated experience in people management
    • 3 years demonstrated SHERQ management experience in mining/explosive environment

    Duties    

    • To supervise and report on blasting service delivery by utilising resources and managing costs effectively and efficiently in such a manner as to accomplish the operational objectives of the business.
    • To efficiently manage the operational service delivery value chain through a series of activities that meet customers' needs and expectations to ensure retention of current customers and increase new business opportunities for BME.
    • To effectively manage stock levels, storage areas, magazines, adherence to security procedures and movement of stock while loading and unloading of trucks, keeping in mind risks, costs and recordkeeping requirements as per SHERQ and BME's standards.
    • To exercise financial control and effective cost administration by ensuring that expenditure on site is managed inside the allocated budgets, risks are minimized and costs are managed in order to be in line with site objectives and customer needs.
    • To ensure that all the requirements of the Mine Health and Safety Act, OHS Act, and statutory requirements within the department/remit thus ensuring effective management of SHERQ and adherence to stipulated disciplines for continuous improvement of occupational Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality that impact on any organisation.
    • To supervise all aspects of human capital through the HR value chain and in accordance to legislation.
    • To ensure efficient and effective control of budget allocation in such a manner as to accomplish the strategic financial objectives of the region.
    • To timeously schedule and oversee the maintenance of equipment, vehicles and assets thus ensuring adherence to processes and procedures.
    • To identify and implement employee development and skills transfer through various on boarding and training initiatives.
    • To identify, contribute towards and implement continuous improvement initiatives to overcome operational problems by reviewing work practices against standard procedures, to support the strategic strategy and facilitate change initiatives as required, as well as to assist with the development and/or implementation of policies, procedures and processes to ensure process excellence.

    Employee Relations Specialist

    Overview    

    • The purpose of this role is to provide expert Employee Relations (ER) support within a mining organisation, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, fostering positive industrial relations, and mitigating operational risks through strategic ER interventions.

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, Industrial Psychology or equivalent
    • Post graduate qualification in IR highly advantageous

    Certifications:

    • Registration with a relevant human resources management professional body

    Experience    

    • 5 years demonstrated experience in employee relations
    • 3 years proven track record of involvement in workplace discipline management and dispute resolution within mining environment
    • 3 years’ experience working with Trade Unions and Bargaining Council
    • 3 years’ experience in general people management
    • Experience representing organisations at CCMA and Labour Courts
    • 2 years’ experience in project management (Advantage)

    Duties    
    ER Strategy implementation:

    • Develop and implement ER strategies aligned with mining industry regulations and operational requirements.

    ER service delivery & dispute resolution:

    • ER Case Resolution within SLA
    • Advise management on complex ER issues, including interpretation of collective agreements and mining-specific labor laws.
    • Lead investigations into serious misconduct, safety breaches, and operational disputes.
    • Represent the company at CCMA, Labour Court or Bargaining Council for dispute resolution meetings.
    • Disciplinary hearing schedules including dispute resolution attendance registers.
    • Provide general administrative support as required (set up meetings, arrange venues, take minutes etc..)
    • Ensure timeous implementation and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans (PIP)

    Governance & Compliance:

    • Monitor compliance with sector-specific legislation (e.g. Mine Health and Safety Act, Employment Equity Act).
    • Conduct risk assessments for labor unrest and develop contingency plans.
    • Review ER related documents such as charge sheets and disciplinary outcomes prior to issue
    • Prepare and manage EE plans for mining segment and manage deviations to the plan
    • Oversee the EE Committee including the coordination and facilitation of EE Committee meetings, presentation and minutes
    • Provide the necessary training to the EE Committee and manage nominations and appointments of members

    Critical Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Drive union engagement strategies and facilitate wage negotiations in line with industry benchmarks.
    • Maintain chairpersons list and ensure ongoing training.
    • Conduct ER training and any legal updates related to workplace law.
    • Prepare detailed ER analytics and trend reports to inform workforce planning and risk mitigation (monthly, quarterly or upon request).

    Job Competencies    

    • Advanced knowledge of mining labor legislation and collective bargaining frameworks.
    • Ability to manage high-complexity disputes and negotiations.
    • Strong stakeholder management with unions and regulatory authorities.
    • Data-driven ER risk analysis and reporting.
    • Familiarity with mining operational processes and their impact on ER.
