The Northern Cape is the largest and most populated province of South Africa, taking up almost a third of the country’s land area and rich in minerals.

Here, mining is an important and major industry contributing nearly a quarter of the GPD. 94% of South Africa’s platinum produced in Rustenburg and Brits. This record is more than that of any other single area in the world. Major copper mines are located in Nabapeep, Okiep, and Aggeneys.
