    Registered Nurse (Night-Shift) - Medfem Hospital

    CRITICAL OUTPUTS

     

    • Perform clinical rounds with doctors.
    • Be responsible and accountable for the physical, social and emotional care of all patients allocated to you on any shift.
    • To conduct hourly patient rounds, and ensure that doctor’s orders are carried out.
    • Keep the doctor informed of test results received, changes in patient conditions and adverse  reaction to treatment.
    • Ensure that all patient needs are met by assessing needs, planning and implementing nursing care plan and continuous evaluation of efficacy of care rendered.
    • To record all interactions and interventions with patients on the appropriate documentation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12
    • Diploma/Degree in nursing leading to qualification as Registered Nurse 
    • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a surgical ward environment is advantageous 
    • Computer proficiency (MS Office) essential
    • SANC Registration as a Registered Nurse
    • Willing to work Night Shifts.

    Enrolled Nurse Auxillary - Theatre: Century City Day Hospital

    CRITICAL OUTPUTS

    • Function as part of a theatre team under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
    • Competent and confident as Circulating nurse.
    • Friendly, professional delivery of quality clinical care to promote holistic care of the patient & to ensure the safety of the patient.
    • Promote and maintain the hygiene of the patient in all aspects.
    • Prevent cross infection by adhering to infection control policies/procedures.
    • Maintain the comfort of the patient as well as prevention of complications.
    • Promote the patient’s welfare by doing the necessary observations.
    • Document / record all findings correctly in patient’s file.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality.
    • Timeous & accurate checking of stock.
    • Use, maintain & store resources appropriately without wastages and abuse of equipment and consumables.
    • Demonstrates good judgement, client service & decision-making skills in line with company values.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
    • At least 3 years’ experience within a theatre environment essential.
    • Able to work flexi-time according to unit requirements.
    • Knowledge of nursing activities within scope of practice.

    Enrolled Nurse (Anaesthetic) - Century City Day Hospital

     CRITICAL OUTPUTS

    • To function as part of a team under supervision of a registered nurse.
    • Prepare all the necessary instruments & equipment with regards to anaesthesia.
    • Work alongside the anaesthetist, providing instruments, medicine & other materials as required, and be able to anticipate their requirements.
    • Promotion of health and safety & responsible for ensuring that surgical instruments, equipment & swabs are accounted for throughout the procedure.
    • Undertake the 'circulating nurse' role where required, preparing the environment & equipment needed for the operating theatre list.
    • Record information about each surgical procedure/operation.
    • Ordering supplies of equipment / medicine and liaise with the Sterile Services Department regarding equipment & instruments.
    • Cleaning of theatre, checking of equipment & ensuring use of sterile technique to maintain sterility throughout the procedure.
    • Prepare the patient for recovery room & complete documentation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum requirement: Grade 12
    • Diploma/Degree in nursing leading to qualification as Enrolled Nurse
    • At least 2 to 3 years’ proven anaesthetics experience in a theatre environment
    • Computer proficiency (MS Office)
    • SANC registration as an Enrolled Nurse
