    Dispatch Supervisor (X2) (Isando)

    Description

    • To oversee and manage all dispatch activities for bulk and bag orders, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient loading and picking processes while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12
    • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field
    • 3-5 years' experience in dispatch or packing supervision or operations management within FMCG or manufacturing.
    • Supervisory or team leadership experience is highly desirable
    • Proven track record of progressive responsibility in dispatch operations.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Plan & Coordinate Dispatch: Independently plan, coordinate, and supervise bag and bulk dispatch activities ensuring adherence to schedules, stock levels, priorities, and quality standards.
    • Team Management: Manage dispatch loading and picking staff, including recruitment input, leave and overtime authorization, training, and performance management.
    • Process Optimization: Analyse dispatch workflows and implement process improvements to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and enhance DIFOT (Delivery in Full on Time).
    • Reporting & Analytics: Maintain accurate reports on picking/loading output, labour utilization, and compliance metrics using ERP systems and advanced Excel tools.
    • Cross-Functional Liaison: Collaborate with production, packing, QA, and dispatch teams to resolve operational issues and align on priorities.
    • Stock Control: Conduct inspections of stock levels, slow-moving, damaged, expired, and surplus feed; ensure accurate daily stock counts and labelling.
    • Equipment Oversight: Check forklift registers, coordinate maintenance, and troubleshoot operational issues.
    • Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the dispatch area.
    • Problem-Solving: Apply practical and theoretical knowledge to solve technical problems and improve dispatch processes.
    • Cost Control: Participate in cost control initiatives related to accurate and timely loading, keeping within planned schedules.
    • Management Communication: Provide clear updates to senior management on stock and loading performance, challenges, and improvement plans.

    TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES

    • Relevant technical or operational qualification in manufacturing, packaging, or related discipline highly preferred.
    • Extensive experience in Packaging and dispatching supervision or operations management, demonstrating progressive responsibility
    • Strong analytical, organizational and problem- solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Proficient in using computer systems, including ERP software and advanced Excel reporting tools.
    • Proven leadership and people management capabilities, including managing leave, overtime, and workforce development.
    • Ability to make sound decisions independently within the scope of own authority
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross – departmental and management collaboration.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc or BCom in Agricultural Economics, Finance, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications in financial analysis or credit risk management (advantageous).
