    Head of Corporate Real Estate Services, Africa

    Purpose of the Role:  

    • Context - The Global CRES portfolio is significant in size, and consists of a mixture of office locations, supply/manufacturing sites and land/other. The Africa region covers 9 countries, with  offices and manufacturing sites, plus some land/other sites. The Head of CRES is responsible for the following in region:
    • Delivering the Global CRES Strategy; to build inclusive and balanced workplaces that drive connections and inspire our employees to do their best work.
    • Determining and executing the regional aspects of this strategy wrt our 5 pillars: Workplace Experience, Portfolio and Supply Partner Optimisation, Sustainability, Culture and Capability, and Risk Management and Performance Metrics
    • Financial performance of the CRES function for all real estate assets in the regional portfolio
    • Senior stakeholder engagement & business partnering across the region – displaying SME leadership and strong relationship building.
    • Ownership of the Regional / Sub-regional Exec relationships
    • Providing oversight and leadership of CRES function - inhouse and outsourced teams
    • Ensuring proper governance for CRES related activities and managing related risk
    • Leading the business, suppliers and internal partners to ensure Diageo workspaces are motivational places to be and work, are set up to attract the right talent, foster a culture of creativity and innovation, protect the wellbeing of Diageo employees, and promote environmental sustainability

    Key Accountabilities

    Building Outstanding Relationships

    • Develop and maintain trusted positive relationships with business/market stakeholders, Global/Regional CRES Teams and with key personnel at our key supply partners.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with peers and broader industry networks.
    • Be the ambassador for Global CRES in the region, showcasing our successes and innovation.

    Manage CRES Performance & Outcomes for a geography.

    • Ensuring the real estate portfolio optimises cost, carbon and Workplace Experience, developing and delivering programmes for consolidation, change or growth where needed.
    • Owning and ensuring the capital and revenue budget is owned and tracked.
    • Deliver our 2030 targets wrt Sustainability – waste, water, carbon, aligning CRES with Diageo’s Society 2030 ambition – for Offices and Fleet

    Manage Team and 3rd Parties.

    • Ensuring efficient delivery of key supplier IFM contracts and capital projects to address business needs and release value.
    • Oversee delivery of CRES services/projects to deliver experiential and safe workspaces, Sustainability targets and our D&I agenda.

    Governance, Risk, Performance Measurement & Reporting

    • Share, roll out and embed best practice in CRES activities i.e., codification across countries.
    • Ensure compliance with standards and policies within CRES, own all CRES related risks in region.
    • Measuring and reporting to the Global Head of CRES on CRES and portfolio performance, plus key regional stakeholders
    • Establishing appropriate steering groups for markets within the geography and holding them to account for the governance of decisions and change projects for their market.

    Entry Level Requirements – Capabilities, Skills & Experience:

    • Ability to align with and influence key stakeholders with potentially conflicting priorities and to effectively connect with/challenge senior stakeholders.
    • Strong experience of managing IFM services across a range of buildings – offices and supply.
    • At least 10 years leadership / management experience in CRES related function. 
    • Experience in and / or a good understanding of Diageo or equivalent organisation
    • Highly self-motivated and pro-active with great communication skills
    • Proven track record in an ability to work with others, both within CRES and across an organisation
    • Proven track record in change and programme management
    • Experience in the strategic management of IFM services and suppliers across markets
    • Understanding of Supplier and CRES IFM performance metrics and communication thereof
    • Experience of managing regional Sustainability programmes/targets across the CRES lifecycle
    • Awareness and management of CRES Risk and governance

    Reward Manager, SWC

    About the role: 

    • The purpose of this role is to support the business in attracting, retaining and motivating our people with a competitive reward package, clear and transparent reward principles, and great reward communication. This role does this by partnering with stakeholders across Diageo to implement reward policies and programs and build reward capability. This role is part of the Global Reward CoE structure and will be a member of the Africa Market Reward team.
    • The role holder will partner with our businesses in some of the markets we operate in. They will deliver against the strategic reward priorities in these markets across all elements of total reward (compensation and benefits) and be the key point of contact for HR Business Partner and Talent Engagement teams. Alongside leading on priorities for Diageo in supported markets, the role holder will also be involved in broader Africa and global reward projects and activities with focus on South, West and Central Africa.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    Market Complexity -

    • As part of the Africa Reward team, and with business partnering accountability for supported markets, this role will work on reward programs and projects that cut across multiple business units and countries. This complexity, combined with a large group of stakeholders at all levels of seniority, means the ability to build great relationships, manage competing priorities, and to understand how to get things done in a matrix organization is critical. The role holder will lead on both the reward strategy and priorities.

    Leadership Responsibilities -

    • Take a leading role on Reward projects and activities for supported markets and engages with stakeholders to reach desired outcomes. To be successful in this role, the role holder needs to build strong and effective relationships with Market Reward colleagues globally, Shared Services teams, Executive Reward, HR Directors & Business Partners, Employee Relations and Talent Engagement teams.

    Role Responsibilities: 

    • Alongside the Head of Reward for the Region, drive the Africa Reward Strategy.
    • Lead, drive and deliver Reward projects and activities.
    • Deliver expert support, guidance, and recommendations across total Reward areas – including but not limited to benchmarking, salary management, job evaluation, merit budget planning, sales compensation, total reward communication, employee benefit management.
    • Provide analytical insight with commercial focus to drive ongoing and new compensation and benefits programs and participates in the design and development of new programs, policies, and principles.
    • In conjunction with the HR community, key member on delivering the Annual Reward Cycle (ARC) process for the Diageo population in supported markets. Ensure consistency of approach with clear communications.
    • Build reward understanding and capability in HR Business Partners, Talent Engagement, people managers and employees to enable the attraction, retention, and motivation.

    Experience / skills required: 

    •  A minimum of 5 years' experience in reward.
    • Reward experience in South, West and Central Africa.
    • Experience with global populations.
    • Country experience: South Africa (essential), Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Angola, Ivory Coast, Ghana.
    • Experience in working in a multinational with matrix organization.
    • Excellent analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to work with complex data and to draw insights and recommendations from it.
    • Ability to bring these insights and recommendations to life for a broad range of stakeholders in an engaging and easy to understand manner.
    • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
    • Can work well under pressure and to work autonomously.
    • Advanced excel skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver impactful communications materials and achieve clarity and understanding of Reward with varied audiences.
    • Relevant Degree or professionally qualified.
