Plumber (Service Technician)

• You will be responsible for consistently monitoring quality and SLAs’.
• You will be expected to deliver an outstanding service to all Kwikot customers in terms of all warranty and insurance related calls as well as providing advice to customers.
• Handle general queries regarding after sales service, installations, faulty issues etc.
• Attend to all warranty and insurance related calls logged by the Call Centre within a reasonable turnaround time of 24Hrs.
• Ensure that all administration (timecards, running sheets, job cards etc. are updated daily.
• Ensure correct completion of all documents

Qualifications

• Matric
• PIRB registered (advantageous)
• 3 to 5 years’ experience
• Plumbing Certificate (CETA/ Red Seal)
• Thorough knowledge of all Kwikot products, EWH systems, products, services and competitors
• Heat Pump Installation/Servicing Certificate (advantageous)
• Electrical and Plumbing installation/Servicing knowledge and or Certificate
• Code 8 Drivers License
• Thorough knowledge of Suburbs, Towns and surrounding areas
• Business English and fluency in at least one other indigenous African language
• Confidentiality

Your Role

• Participate, support, and drive projects & design concepts to achieve Cost & Quality Excellence and sustainability targets.
• Align with design guidelines and procedures, and related platform engineers.

A Typical Day

• Cost Reduction
• Investigate and implement projects to reduce DM (Direct Material), DL (Direct Labor) costs and sustainability.
• Quality Improvement
• Investigate and implement projects to improve the quality of the manufactured products to reduce the warranty SCR (Service Call Rate).
• Factory Support
• Provide technical support to the factory to assist in the reduction of rework, to improve productivity, and to process requests for design changes from the ECR (Engineering Change Request) system.
• Design, develop, and modify components and finished assemblies
• Construct 3D CAD models and create detailed drawings using CATIA software
• Coordinate the prototyping, performance and quality verification, tooling quotation, part cost quotation, sourcing, production trials, and approval of components and finished assemblies
• Construct and update BOMs (Bill of Materials), and ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) and manage approval documentation in our systems according to internal procedures.
• Follow up and rectify problems found with components and assemblies
• Participate in Project Teams
• Participate in FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Prepare & manage project management, progress tracking, timing plans, risk assessments and the reporting of project status
• Discuss the manufacturing process for product and component development with PD Team to ensure clear direction and understanding of the desired result.
• Preparing and maintaining product files (DBOM, EBOM, MBOM Drawings, Specs, Test Specs) on the PLM system (Team Center).
• Supply all technical input for product literature, labels, technical manuals, etc.
• Facilitate and coordinate DVT-MVT as per project requirements.
• Ensure that all engineering requirements and modifications are represented on the engineering drawings.
• Ensure benchmarking of competitors’ products on Technical / functional level & Cost Level.
• When necessary, support the introduction and ramp-up of new models designed by the R&D Department into production (whether directly or indirectly involved)

Who You Are?

• BSc Of Mechanical Engineering 3 -10 years’ Experience.
• Mastering robust design tools using (CAD, CAE, FMEA, DFMA, tolerances analysis etc.) to develop 2D, 3D, CADs, and prototypes. (Catia is recommended)
• Knowledge of Design for Assembling and Manufacturing.
• Knowledge of the main manufacturing processes (metal forming, injection molding, powder painting, die casting).
• Structured and engineering approach during the development phase.
• Initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks with long-term planning capabilities.
• Methodical and accurate and consistent attention to detail.
• Strong relationship with all functions in the global organization, to enhance the delivery of targets.
• 1-3 years experience in product mechanical design.
• Knowledge about Quality tools (FMEA, PSRA, …)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Standards)
