    Afrikaans (First Additional Language) Teacher

    Description    

    • Rustenburg Girls’ High School is looking to replace an experienced Afrikaans (First Additional Language) teacher.  This full time, fixed-term, SGB educator post is available from March 2026 (or by arrangement) until the end of the academic year. 
    • Only short-listed candidates will be contacted and invited to an interview and will be taken on a tour of the school and expected to teach a lesson.  We reserve the right not to fill the posts.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    The successful applicant will teach Afrikaans (First Additional Language) from Grade 8 to Grade 11

    • The successful applicant will be expected to play a full role in the extra-mural life of the school, including as a Tutor in the Vertical Tutor System.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Knowledge and experience in teaching the CAPs curriculum in the FET phase is essential (minimum five years preferred).
    • Experience of teaching at Grade 12 level is preferred (minimum three years).
    • Must be computer literate and competent in the use of technology for teaching and learning.

    Part-Time Piano Teacher (Fixed-Term)

    Description    

    • This top performing girls’ school is looking to supplement its existing staff.  The following part-time, fixed term SGB-funded post is available from March 2026 (or by arrangement): PART-TIME PIANO TEACHER

    Applicants must:

    • be available to teach individual piano lessons during the school day to learners from Grade 8 to 12 according to the agreed timetable
    • be able to rehearse with the Chamber Choir Tuesdays from 16h30-18h00
    • be willing to assist with preparing the Chamber Choir for eisteddfods, competitions and other school or external functions (additional hourly remuneration will apply)
    • be prepared to accompany the Chamber Choir on tours
    • Only short-listed candidates will be contacted and invited to an interview and will be taken on a tour of the school and expected to take a rehearsal with the current choir.  We reserve the right not to fill the posts.     • Being involved in the extra-curricular music programme of the school
