Manufacturing plant based in Isithebe just outside of Durban has a Seaming Area Manager role available.

• The ideal candidate would have a minimum Matric /Grade 12 qualification and a minimum of three years in a similar position within a sewing or clothing manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities for the role:

• Ability to read sewing specifications
• Ability to manage the coordination of the production process
• Ability to liaise with the relevant support departments to ensure availability of raw materials and resources
• Ability to ensure the achievement of pre-set production targets
• Ability to ensure that quality standards are adhered to
• Ability to supervise and discipline staff accordingly
• Ability to manage staff performance

JOB FUNCTION

To ensure that all equipment is running and maintained in the facility and to be involved and participate in the company’s activities. Ensure availability of equipment at all times.  Manage Spare part store to ensure the availability of spare parts when needed. Manage breakdowns on shift.

Requirements:

• N3 or Technical qualification e.g. electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, millwright, etc.
• Measurement, robotics, mechatronics would be advantageous.
• Must be able to work shifts and be on standby at intervals, own transport essential.

Experience:

• 5 – 10 years shimming (tool adjustments) and acing as a jig technician
• Strong Measurement / Robotics/ Mechatronics experience
• CNC Operation and programming
•  Auto CAD experience
• Extensive understanding and knowledge of how 20 or more interconnected welding jigs work in one big robotic cell (54 robots) and how to adjust the geometry by advanced interpretation of measurement reports. Robotic / Mechatronics experience
