    Senior Foreman Mechanical Surface

    Job Description
    -As a Senior Foreman Mechanical Surface, you will be responsible for managing the discipline of engineering supervisory, budget, and technical service. Compliance with operating relevant procedure Work instructions, MHSA compliance, Codes of Practices, procedures, and standards. Coordinate special projects and shutdowns manage PM compliance and prioritize duties towards the maintenance of equipment and services, budget setting and control, contactor management, and quality management.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assist the Operation Management team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the process in achieving throughput objectives
    • Undertake to plan the spares requirements according to the planned maintenance schedule and ensure their availability
    • Liaise with the Operation management team regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress to plan, budget, and employee resources
    • Oversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements
    • Oversee the quality of workmanship and conduct regular inspections around the section and the operation
    • Plan daily, weekly and monthly work requirement and priorities with the operational team
    • Identify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the section’s performance
    • Oversee that the required material, equipment, spares and staff are available to achieve the output

    This role is in the Engineering Department at Band D1 and reports to the Section Engineer Production

    Qualifications

    • -Engineering Foreman Certificate or equvilant
    • Boiler Making or Fitting Trade Certificate
    • Certified Competent 2.9.2
    • Medical Fitness Certificate will be required

    Experience:

    • Seven years post trade qualified experience
    • Experience at Foreman level (advantageous)
    • Computer literate in full MS Office
    • Valid code 08 licence and own reliable transport
    • SAP proficiency

    Control Engineer

    Job Description

    As a multi-disciplined Engineer your responsibility will span across the total control solution including both regulatory and advance control.

    As part of your development you will be involved in:

    • Design & implementation of C&I Automation Systems.
    • Support of both the Lead and Senior Engineers to ensure that process control projects are executed on-time and meet the required performance criteria.
    • Responsible to ensure that they liaise closely with the technical support staff on the operating units to minimise critical failures of the process control solution.
    • First line support to the operating units.
    • Executing projects as directed and seeking for continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Operational process control performance review.
    • Assist in training of resources.
    • Consistently apply the Anglo Way principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities and Loss Time Injuries in accordance with the Anglo American Standards, and Mine Health and Safety Act, the Anglo Safety Way and other applicable legislation.

    This role forms part of the Process Instrumentation & Control Function of Waterval Smelter at a Band 6 level reporting to the Control Technology Specialist.

    Qualifications

    • -BSc Engineering, Electrical, Electronics or relevant related qualification
    • Professionally registered with ECSA would be advantageous.

    Required Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years demonstrable post-qualification engineering experience with defined exposure with the design, implementation and maintenance of control solutions, furnace/Smelters and refining environment.

    Section Engineering Manager Production

    Job Description

    -The Section Engineering Manager is appointed in terms of the MHSA as 2.13.1 provide overall management and is accountable for the overall engineering and asset management across a clearly defined portion of the overall complex operation.

    The focus for this role will be to:

    • Contribute to the development of the strategic operational plans and strategy with direct accountability for the execution of such strategies within the area of accountability
    • Develop, implement, and monitor engineering maintenance, risk and operational tactics and plans to deliver the business objectives and develops set and manage the engineering and maintenance budgets
    • Provide and oversee engineering services, infrastructure (roads, power, water) and equipment availability are adequate and maintained. Lead and manage resources (labour, spares, suppliers. Contractors etc) to deliver production targets and projects
    • Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices and to all group, BU and other engineering and asset management standards and specifications within the area of accountability
    • Accountable and ensures the implementation of key strategic initiatives such as the operating model, asset management and SIB deployment, including implementation/development and or management of CMMS, setting out the service strategy for equipment
    • Asset integrity and critical spares inclusive of application for SIB capital to de-risk operation. Develop an adequate set of measures to monitor plant and equipment performance
    • Manages implements and contributes to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects for engineering processes

    This role is in the Engineering department at a Band 6 level, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager.

    Qualifications

    -You will be required to have:

    • Relevant Tertiary qualification
    • GCC Mines and Works

    Experienced Required

    • Minimum 5 years experience post GCC with two years at management level is essential
    • Experience in underground mining is essential
    • Vertical Shaft experience is advantageous
    • Knowledge and experience in working Operating Model Principles and Asset Management Framework

    Senior Workshop Technician

    DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

    The incumbent will be responsible for the fault finding, diagnosis and repair of equipment, including that of the lifting machinery, as well as the maintenance, overhaul and commissioning of this equipment to satisfy customer needs and expectations. The incumbent will also be required to plan, supervise, and execute work with the team in the Workshop. The incumbent will develop the capacity of team members to maintain and support quality, safety, health and environmental factors.


    Job Description

    -KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Implements and manages the Risk management plan according to organizational and operational (Repair) requirements.
    • Adheres to company risk management policy - business ethics.
    • Provides active participation in Safety Objectives and the promotion of a safe work culture.
    • Sets and implements standard operating and control procedures for the department.
    • Completes all manpower documentation (time sheets, overtime booking).
    • Collaborates with the relevant stakeholders.
    • Provides technical advisory services for safe operation and logistics of machinery in terms of the company policies.
    • Supervision in workshop to ensure safe work and teams for optimal efficiency.
    • Supervision of mining systems repairs to various equipment promoting a key understanding of the critical components, interfaces and the consequences of repair actions.
    • Plans and manages materials for the repair work for the workshop as per Material Management Procedures and populate requirements on SAP.
    • Strives for highest quality of work output whilst balancing the delivery schedule requirements.
    • Ensures quality management system and QCP’s are in place for work executed and condition assessments reports submitted.
    • Report on progress of project plan (planned versus actual) into weekly meetings.
    • Executes equipment repair plans to achieve an optimal result (time, quality and cost), assist with job costs and time estimates.
    • Assesses the requirements and resources to assist in compiling the emergency repair plan and prioritize accordingly.
    • Commissions the equipment as per the scope of work.

    • 5 to 8 years’ experience post Merseta trade test in engineering maintenance, repair and installation services and support environment.
    • Inclusive of 5 years’ experience supervising industrial work in a Mechanical/Hydraulic Environment
    • Experience in a medium to heavy industrial working environment would be an advantage.

    Shaft Planner

    Job Description

    -The focus areas for this role will be to:

    • Compile short-term plan in accordance with Life of Mine (obtained from the Chief Mine Planner in conjunction with medium term planner) and 5-year plans in conjunction with line management.
    • Deliver input into new mine technical systems design / layouts / structures including capital and ad hoc projects.
    • Take ownership using the MineRP Planner scheduling software on the shaft.
    • Schedule the 1-year and monthly plans with input from line management including new layouts and design for project type work (extensions, new block, new ideas) on MineRP Planner
    • Analyse KPIs and highlights potential high-risk areas including the Development / stoping replacement ratios and Ore reserve availability.
    • Put controls in place to ensure Production plans are adhered to.

    This role is in the MRM Department at a D1 Level, reporting to the Chief Mine Planner

    Qualifications

    • -Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Mining qualifications that support the preparation of mine plans, such as Survey, Rock Engineering or Mining (essential)

    Knowledge, skills and experience:

    • Mining industry background with at least 2 years’ experience
    • Bord & Pillar mining experience (advantageous)
    • Planner experience (advantageous)
