    Environmental Consultant

    Job Description

    • We are looking for someone who will be able to project manage, administrate and compile multiple, multi-disciplinary environmental projects and prepare proposals.

    Job Requirements

    • Effectively project manage the environmental and social legislative processes applicable to the relevant country.
    • Maintain an awareness of country applicable legislation and the potential impact on the various projects.
    • Participate in marketing the company and bringing in new business/projects.
    • Effectively manage tasks relating to project team management which includes:
    • Project resource allocation and workload forecasting.
    • Project budget and invoice forecasting
    • Effectively project manage the following:
    • Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) according to the relevant legislation and international standards, such as the IFC Performance Standards.
    • Environmental Permitting.
    • Mining Right Applications.
    • Working in close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
    • Consultation with stakeholders,
    • Liaising with clients and authorities; and
    • Compile and write reports and other written deliverables for submission to the client and necessary authorities.

    Other Requirements

    • Professional Registration would be beneficial. (e.g. EAPASA).
    • Understanding of applicable environmental and social legislation and international standards.
    • Understanding and practical experience with environmental authorisation processes.
    • Proven experience in large Project Managing environmental and social processes.
    • Strong interpersonal skills (build rapport etc.).
    • Excellent communication skills (Both verbal and written).
    • Strong customer orientation.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Superior organisation skills.
    • Valid driver's license
    • Willing to travel locally and internationally, including the rest of Africa

    Qualifications

    • Post graduate degree in Environmental Management or similar.
    • Project Management certificate would be beneficial

    Work Experience

    • 4 - 5 years in a similar role specifically within the resources/infrastructure

    Hydrogeologist Intern

    Job Description

    • At Digby Wells Environmental, we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our colleagues, our clients, the communities we work in, and the environment. We are looking for an Intern Hydrogeologist who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow with our team.

    Job Requirements
    As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our Hydrogeology team with:

    • Assisting with hydro-census surveys and data interpretation.
    • Supporting drilling supervision activities.
    • Assisting with aquifer pump/slug test supervision and data analysis.
    • Collecting water monitoring data (levels and samples).
    • Assisting with data analysis and building databases.
    • Participating in local and international fieldwork programmes.
    • Assisting in compiling reports and providing administrative support.
    • Working alongside a team of specialists and learning to integrate technical and social aspects of projects.
    • Supporting proposal development and business development initiatives.
    • Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients.

    Qualifications

    • BSc. (Honours in Hydrogeology or related field preferred, or currently completing studies).

    Work Experience

    • No formal experience required, but any prior exposure to environmental consultancy or the mining sector will be advantageous.

    Other Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license (preferred).
    • Awareness of Environmental, Water, Mining and Social legislation.
    • Strong computer literacy.
    • Good report writing and communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
    • A willingness to learn, innovate and contribute.
