    Electrical Engineer SA

    Summary Of Role
    As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide engineering support during the design, pre-construction, construction, and energisation phases of Mainstream Renewable Energy, REIPPPP and Bi-lateral project portfolio.

    What You Will Do

    • Conceptual design for renewable energy power plants, including utility interfaces
    • Preparation of technical specifications & referencing to the company’s engineering requirements on a regular basis (regular contracts review).
    • Design review.
    • Quality monitoring and regular review during the construction phase, updating of the quality comments database (Microsoft Excel).
    • Supporting the Operations Team on Utility interactions
    • Support the Grid Manager with grid connection, energisation, and Matrix / Handover documentation.
    • Assist the Construction team on engineering issues and partake in construction team meetings and events, as required
    • Technical meetings during the various phases of the projects assisting in development, procurement, construction, and operations.
    • Interfacing the Mainstream Partners and other stake holders on technical matters
    • Interfacing with and managing external consultants and contractors.

    What We Require

    • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
    • 5-years of experience in either Network Planning, Network Operations, Control Plant, or other related Utility experience.
    • Be flexible in terms of working and travel arrangements.
    • Regular national travel and international travel will be required as part of the job (driving licence Code B essential, no criminal record or past infringements, no previous Visa rejections).
    • Have excellent communication, writing and people skills.
    • Be comfortable to both host and partake in technical Engineering meetings and to give presentations to the rest of the company.
    • Extensive use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows.
    • Fluent in the English language (written and spoken).

    Preference will be given to Candidates that have the following Experience:

    • Understanding of wind turbine/solar PV technologies
    • Knowledge of wind farm/solar farm design.
    • Knowledge of the national HSE and Electrical Standards of South Africa.
    • Knowledge of Utility Connections and protection.
    • Knowledge of applicable Grid Codes.
    • Knowledge of engineering software (AutoCAD, GIS, dynamic simulation software).

    OT Systems Engineer SA

    Summary Of Role
    Mainstream Renewable Power is looking for an OT Systems Engineer to provide support to the Construction and Operations teams in Operational Technology (OT) and SCADA. This role will be responsible for management of Wind and Solar Farm OT and SCADA Hardware, updates, interaction with the IT team.

    What You Will Do

    • Assist with the design, integration and commissioning of new projects.
    • Perform full lifecycle of installation, management, and maintenance of all OT infrastructure, including servers, storage, switches, routers, firewalls, and VoIP systems
    • Perform system maintenance and patching of all OT infrastructure.
    • Manage and support cloud-based and on-prem platforms
    • Implement cybersecurity best practices and protocols and perform proactive monitoring to ensure security, integrity, and uptime of essential systems.
    • Support advanced applications and process control infrastructure systems.
    • Perform audits on all assigned integrated control networks
    • Manage the hardware installed in the Data Analytics Centre.
    • Perform regular backups of systems on Operational Sites.
    • Perform regular Cyber Security audits and generate the report for Insurance purposes.

    What We Require

    • An degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
    • 5-years of experience in an IT or OT related environment.
    • Be flexible in terms of working and travel arrangements.
    • Regular national travel and international travel will be required as part of the job (driving licence Code B essential, no criminal record or past infringements, no previous Visa rejections)
    • Analytical and conceptual thinking, able to understand both the details and the underlying systemic issues in order to plan and implement creative and effective solutions to business challenges

    • Have excellent communication, writing and people skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Self-motivated, hard-working with strong attention to detail in all work.
    • Extensive use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows.
    • Fluent in the English language (written and spoken).
    • Preference will be given to Candidates that have the following Experience:
    • SQL Programming ability.
    • SQL Server Experience.
    • Knowledge on Cisco Networking & Virtualization platforms
    • Knowledge of DNP3 or similar engineering communication protocols.
