    Senior Investment Associate

    Job description

    • Lead sourcing, structuring, and implementation of complex investment deals.
    • Develop new investment opportunities through deep market insight and stakeholder engagement.
    • Drive strategic business development in alignment with national BEE objectives.
    • Conduct and oversee due diligence, deal negotiation, and structuring.
    • Mentor and support junior associates and analysts, enhancing team capability.
    • Represent the NEF at investment forums, conferences, and on selected boards of investee companies.
    • Monitor portfolio performance and manage investment risks to ensure long-term sustainability.

    Minimum requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in private equity, project finance or structured finance.
    • Proven expertise in deal origination, structuring and execution.
    • Strong project management skills and leadership acumen.
    • A BCom degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).
    • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and regulatory frameworks.
    • Passion for economic transformation and supporting South African entrepreneurs.

    Key Individual (Category II)

    Job description

    In this strategic leadership role, your core responsibilities will include:

    • Managing and overseeing the Fund’s discretionary financial services
    • Liaising with the investment committee on portfolio appetite and risk alignment
    • Reviewing investment proposals and business due diligence from Dealmakers
    • Ensuring accurate and timely financial briefings from analysts
    • Keeping the Fund informed of local economic trends and financial markets
    • Interpreting complex financial data and maintaining detailed reporting standards
    • Submitting structured reports to the FSCA and ensuring regulatory compliance
    • Monitoring and maintaining full compliance with the FAIS Act

    Minimum requirements

    What You Bring

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing shares, debentures & securitised debt products on a discretionary basis
    • Experience or certification related to JSE-listed products (advantageous)
    • Matric Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7)
    • RE1 & RE3 certifications
    • Class of Business: Investments
    • Must be registered as a Key Individual on at least one or two FSP licenses
