Production

• Issue each Operator with their daily production schedule.
• Ensure that the production schedule is completed on time and in full.
• Ensure that each Operator sets up their machine correctly (regularly) to prevent non-conforming products.
• Supervisor to check that each operator uses the template given to check the dimensions.
• Check the quality of the products to prevent unnecessary losses due to quality issues.
• Sign off each production order to indicate conformance to the quality requirements as well as accuracy of the quantities.

Health and Safety

• Enforce all Health and Safety policies and protocols.
• Ensure all employees wear the correct PPE
• Check that all belts, chains etc. are checked and replaced when required.

Inventory Management.

• Ensure that all finished goods are clearly marked, packed, and stacked correctly.
• Ensure that random checks are done on quantities to check the accuracy of the operator and prevent customer complaints.
• Ensure that all necessary materials are available for the shift.
• Daily check of the coil consumed list to ensure that employees are accurately recording the coil number and usage.

Reporting

• Report any incidents that may have occurred.
• Document any issues or improvements needed.
• TrainingTrain new employees and provide ongoing support.
• Ensure all employees know what is required of them.
• Machinery Maintenance.
• Check that all daily, weekly check lists are done and any issues reported to the Production Superintendent.

Requirements

• Minimum: Grade12(with Maths & Science)/N3
• NQF4 with Technical skills & Operational qualification
• Steel Industry specific experience in Coil Processing lines. (Five Years of supervisory Experience)

Description

To operate equipment in accordance with company standards and procedures.

• Efficiently and accurately operate equipment according to operating procedures, instructions, and schedules.
• Ensure prime quality production in accordance with quality plan.
• Adhere to operating requirements were assigned to.
• Continuously reporting to Production Technician on any observed defects/Deviation, unsafe conditions from the operating parameters or production requirements.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and Procedures.
• Adhere to safe work practice and good housekeeping (6S).
• Accurate calibration of gauges during start of shift.
• Applying appropriate roll bending pressures to avoid pinching as per SOP.

Requirements

• Grade 12, with Maths & Science
• Production/ Operations Certificate will add advantage
• Minimum of five (5) years manufacturing experience as an operator.

Description

• To drive and operate the forklift safely.
• To perform general production tasks and functions.
• Ability to converse in a business medium communication
• Daily checks on the forklift.
• Proper storage of goods or items with the use of the forklift, trolley or hands.
• Receiving and Dispatch of raw/ processed material with the use of the forklift, trolley or hands.
• Issue materials from the Stores/Warehouse.
• Address shortages with Stores Person/Stores Supervisor.
• Ensure all paperwork received and issued, are given to Stores Person/Stores Supervisor. 
• Supports with stock control/stock take.
• Operate the forklift in tight spaces.
• Maintain housekeeping and Safety (6S) Other general duties in the Stores/Warehouse and provide service to all departments where Forklifting services are required.
• Storing goods in line with instructions.
• Moving stock around by hand, using pallet trolley or the forklift.
• Loading and offloading trucks/vehicles.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum academic qualification: Matric, Valid Forklift license
• Minimum of Forklift: 2-3 years
• Packing and Dispatch experience: 1 year
