DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• We need a reliable driver to join the engineering workshop team at Viking, South Arm
• The person will be responsible to operate and maintain the vehicle with a focus on safety
• Will transport goods and employees in safe manner to various areas and report any issues to management
• Will carry out routine vehicle checks, complete the driver logbook daily and follow driving schedule as instructed by the foreman
• The driver will also work in the Fitters workshop when there's no driving duties for the day and must ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 advantageous
• Have a valid driver's license code 10
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Adhere to traffic laws
• Must have a clean driver record and no traffic violations
• Have at least 2 years driving experience
• Good time management with tasks, ensure delivers and tasks completed timeously
• Understanding and adhering to the company's Health and Safety standards
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends
• Medically fit to work and able to carry heavy objects
• Work well in a team and follow instructions 
• Good customer service, great attitude and strong work ethic
• Good knowledge of routines in and around Western Cape will be advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspecting, monitoring and testing food products to ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with requirements and specifications
• Maintaining food safety, quality assurance and sanitation programs
• Perform effective quality checks on incoming fish and completing logs and reports
• Maintaining and compliance of standards within the department such as HACCP, OHASA, etc
• Assisting with regulatory audits

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Matric advantageous
• 2 or more proven experience in a similar role within a food related industry
• Knowledge of Food safety; HACCP; GMPs; PRPs
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Self-starter and positive attitude
• Good time management with tasks
• Hands-on approach
• Understanding and adhering to the company's Health and Safety standards
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
• Good health and energetic, able to work in inclement temperatures
• Work well in a team and follow instructions
• Sober habits and clear criminal record
