To control materials needs by coordinating with various teams, determining requirements, tracking production schedules and materials requirements, reconciling with available materials, optimising stock levels and completing administration daily.
To source stock by evaluating potential and existing vendors and suppliers, conducting price and supply analysis, making recommendations, negotiating with approved suppliers, managing delivery against promises and completing administration as required.
To resolve materials availability and quality issues by investigating, engaging with suppliers, resolving, and completing administration as required.
To complete materials disposal by identifying materials that require disposal, implementing required disposal practice and completing administration as required.
To comply with policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of policies, participating in training sessions and sourcing answers to any queries daily and as required
To comply with processes by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of processes, implementing the correct process and addressing any areas of concern daily
To implement SHE practices by understanding required actions, implementing and reviewing within deadline or as per process.
Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
Diploma in Supply Chain or similar will be advantageous
2+ years in materials control
1+ year mining experience
1+ year explosives materials control will be advantageous.
Monitor production processes within the area of responsibility by overseeing product flow, tracking quality control, inspecting and testing materials and final products, verifying consistency, optimising efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and completing daily administrative tasks.
Enhance productivity and minimise waste by identifying process improvement opportunities, developing and presenting recommendations, implementing approved changes, and measuring results as required.
Troubleshoot and resolve process issues or deviations by collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying root causes, implementing effective solutions, and ensuring resolution within set deadlines.
Track performance by capturing and analysing production data, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and generating reports to support decision-making.
Ensure effective implementation of SHE by delivering comprehensive training, completing training programs, and addressing any identified gaps or non-compliance.
Monitor SHE performance by establishing clear standards, ensuring timely completion of monitoring activities, and resolving issues within defined deadlines.
Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by facilitating regular communication, exchanging feedback, and supporting collaboration.
Contribute to the team by actively participating in team events, identifying areas where support is needed, and providing the necessary assistance.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge, participating in training sessions, and proactively sourcing answers to queries on a daily and as-needed basis.

2+ years process control in mining industry working with explosives
2+ years manufacturing processes and techniques
