    Team Leader (Lydenburg)

    Description

    • This position exists to oversee the execution of the deposition plan by planning activities, organising resources, delegating task responsibilities, leading people and controlling risks and deviations to ensure the achievement of the deposition plan.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Planning

    • Select the right tools and equipment for the job.
    • Ensure that there are enough stock quantities available.
    • Adherence to the Deposition plan in terms of location and duration.

    Execute Tailings Dam Activities

    • Monitor the flow of slurry.
    • Operate the delivery valves.
    • Manage the water depth in terms of the inlet flow at the penstock, pond and bypassing.

    Leading

    • Train, coach, and motivate the team.
    • Communicate with staff and superiors.
    • Make employees aware of hazards and risks.
    • Attend to employee grievances.

    Control their team

    • Ensure that the equipment is used correctly.
    • Ensure that equipment is stored properly.
    • Ensure that people follow written safe work procedures.
    • Report and record incidents.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12.
    • Certification in a Skills Program in Slimes Reclamation or Tailings Dam Operation will be advantageous.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the same or similar role.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Good communication (verbal and written).
    • Good understanding of action orientation.
    • Advanced understanding of organising.
    • Advanced understanding of decision, quality & problem solving.

    Operations Supervisor (X4) (Phalaborwa)

    Description

    • An exciting opportunity exists to ensure that several tasks are carried out in operations to the safety, environment and productivity standards. The succesful candidate assist management in the efficient and effective management of the operations

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business / Functional Management

    • Execute operational and technical duties in line with the organisational directives
    • Support the implementation of business initiatives 

    Financial, Commercial & Contracts Management

    • Cost-effectively work with materials and equipmenty, as per standard operating procedures and practice notes 
    • Ensure full compliance to material usage requirements in executing duties

    Risk Management and Compliance, Including ESG Responsibilities

    • Execute all duties in strict compliance to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures and legislation, to ensure the company's responsibilities are met
    • Comply with all reporting and information requirements

    Stakeholder Management (Internal and External)

    • Ensure professional interaction with all stakeholders, from operators to junior management level
    • Maintain working relationships with support functions on operations and  and at the head office
    • Engage with peers and seniors to ensure that instructions on the project objectives are achieved

    Operations & Project Management

    • Contribute to the planning and scheduling of daily shift work in accordance with project goals
    • Responsible for operational execution of work, through delivery of own tasks and duties , as well as supervision of the work for team on shift

    Management Operating System & Reporting

    • Ensure all paperwork and posters are displayed at the site office and kept up to date
    • Ensure all reported near misses are recorded on the correct plartforms by following the procedure and submitted weekly

    Technical Management

    • Responsible for adherence to technical standards and work methods , in accordance with the organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures and legislation
    • Checking that the correct calcuations are reflected on the plan , drawings and quantities

    SHEQ Management

    • Assist management wth results captiring and quality assurance processes as required
    • Checking all materials and work are to the required specifications
    • Record the condition of the plant and equipment arriving on site on a form with capturing and submitting proof

    Culture and climate

    • Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement for the duration of the project
    • Align with Fraser Alexander and the client culture requirements 

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • B Tech or Degree in Civil Engineering

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in the same or similar role in mining/tailings or construction enviroment

    General Worker (X2) (Limpopo)

    Description

    • This position exists to assist with the general activities of the operations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with the immediate supervisor to achieve operational targets.
    • Performing inspections on the designated area of responsibility daily.
    • Plan and manage tailings material on site and at deposition areas.
    • Extend and connect pipelines.
    • Opening and closing of valves in line with operational requirements.
    • Follow the work instructions by the immediate supervisor for any specific task in line with operational requirements.
    • Assist with problem-solving on operational challenges and report deviations to the immediate supervisor.
    • Perform mud guard duties, i.e., monitor and control the levels of the tailings dam and ensure the dam’s integrity.
    • Ensure good housekeeping always.
    • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations as per all safety legislation and company procedures.
    • Attend toolbox talks or meetings.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 certificate.

    EXPERIENCE

    • No experience required.
    • Any related experience in a Tailings environment will be advantageous.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Good planning and organising.
    • Teamwork and observant.
    • Good listening skills.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must pass a criminal screening process.
    • May be expected to work rotating shifts.
    • May be required to work overtime from time to time.
    • Must be medically fit as per company standards.

    Excavator Operator (North West)

    PURPOSE

    • Perform the task of excavating and loading of materials as per company SOP/STP.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Excavating and loading of materials.
    • Levelling using the bucket.
    • Cleaning using the bucket.
    • Perform Adhoc work as and when required.
    • Performing the task in accordance with relevant safety rules, regulations and job site conditions.
    • Conducting of a walk around inspection.

    • Completion of pre –start checklist.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • National Drivers license code 10.
    • Valid Competency Certificate of an Excavator Machine.

    • 3+ years relevant work experience in an earthmoving environment.
    • Familiar with mining equipment and safety related standards i.e. Excavator .
