Junior Bookkeeper (Retail / Finance / Reconciliation / Administration) at CA Global

Job Description:

A fast growing retail company that sells high end pet food and accessories is looking for an enthusiastic person to join the finance team based in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

• Reconciling store sales transactions and supporting documentation
• Reconciling store petty cash and capturing transactions
• Preparation of bank account reconciliations
• Processing of head office creditor invoices for expenses and preparing reconciliations as required
• Assist with reviewing creditors reconciliations prepared by the creditor’s clerk
• Monthly journal entries for accruals and prepayments
• Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations
• Responsible for finance admin and filing
• Preparation of the daily dashboard reporting
• Review and capturing of travel/ expense claims
• Cross training with other members of the finance team to ensure adequate cover while employees take leave
• Assist senior bookkeeper with VAT calculations and return filings
• Identifying cost savings and opportunities for process improvements within the business
• Assisting the finance director as needed with ad-hoc projects

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum 3 years bookkeeper experience (retail experience an advantage)
• Must have excellent knowledge of excel – lookups, pivot tables
• Degree in accounting or diploma in bookkeeping
• Person who is able to work accurately even under pressure and take responsibility for tasks allocated to them
