    Financial Director

    Job description

    The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, the metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

    This person is responsible for ensuring that we translate transactions processed into revenue to be billed to clients, monitoring of costs and ensuring we collect the money.

    The goal is to protect the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.

    • Strategic:
      • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives, particulary international expansion
      • Manage the budgeting processes, creating focus on ‘good costs’ designed to support the achievement of strategic business plans
      • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
      • Prepare financial results for the board of directors
      • Report directly into the CEO
      • Responsible for maintaining good relations with shareholder CFO
    • Managerial:
      • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
      • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
      • Overall responsibility for managing finance staff (including management of development plans, reviews, driving coaching where needed) and recruitment within the finance area
      • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
      • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
      • Oversee reconciliation of the company's transaction processing systems
      • Implement operational best practices
      • Responsible for monthly reporting, AFS and audit
      • Communicate results to the management teams on a monthly basis so that they can track both the revenue and costs of the company
    • Operations:
      • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
      • Arrange for debt and equity financing
      • Invest funds
      • Responsible for all tax and regulatory returns of the company.
      • Payment of dividends and lodgement of all related returns
      • Responsible for ensuring that all clients are correctly billed for transactions on a monthly basis
      • Responsible for maintaining existing standard pricing adopted. (including compliance and annual increases)
      • Ensure that reconciliation team is up to date and all client monies for loads are received
      • Ensure that operational issues relating to the reconciliation team are resolved
      • Responsible for the preparation of all budgets and revised forecasts.
      • Management of internal audit process as required.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant
    • Min 10 years work experience, 5 of these in a similar role
    • The successful individual should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and spoken communication skills

    • Supervises: Finance Team consisting of 2 Financial Managers and 6 professional staff.
