    Job Summary

     

    This role functions as a strategic technical expert within the department to contribute a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in Global Design which will support overall department objectives. Delivers project management services for assigned projects on an established schedule within approved budget and to standards agreed with the Client. Provides comprehensive design reviews to ensure quality assurance and compliance with set standards by working closely with the Project Directors, which ultimately supports our external & internal stakeholders.

     

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

     

    Education And Experience

     

    • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Architecture, Construction Project Management or related design discipline or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 8 years progressive experience

       

      Able to travel 50% of working time.
      • Experience in the disciplines of architecture, interior design, product specification, & construction management.

         

        And
      • Experience in lodging design, construction and/or renovation processes.

    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

     

    Reviewing Designs, Managing Projects and Priorities

     

    • Functions as a strategic technical expert within the department.
    • Manages design and quality assurance for new development projects for the Middle East & Africa Region from concept to completion gaining the trust and respect of both internal and external customers.
    • Has Excellent Business Acumen and delivers specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
    • Supports leaders’ vision for product and service delivery.
    • Supports the delivery of design project goals.
    • Works to support Project Director to achieve project plan on schedule.
    • Assists with assessing the performance of architectural consultants and identifying new candidates for consultant resource list.
    • Works with Owners and their consultants to implement Brand strategy and standards in new development projects through concept and schematic design, design development, construction and pre-opening phases.
    • Assesses existing properties for potential conversion to Marriott brands and prepare Property Improvement Plans.
    • Assists and participates in value engineering process to assure adherence to the overall budget for new development projects.
    • Reviews and comments architectural drawings and specifications submitted by various consultants within the time constraints, ensuring that the designs are brand compliant and on strategy for all areas of existing and new development hotel projects.
    • Tracks and reviews construction documents.
    • Develops financial forecasts of the services being delivered.
    • Supports activities in the early formulation and feasibility stages of a project.
    • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
    • Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new design solutions.
    • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
    • Markets and actively supports the products and services provided by the MI Architecture Construction group.
