Operations Agent at World Courier

Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for an Operations Agent of World Courier (WC) an AmerisourceBergen Company, based in the head office in Kempton Park - Johannesburg, South Africa.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Agent will have the following key responsibilities:

• Exports
• Prepare and submit export documents.
• Maintain EDI systems.
• Prepare airline booking.
• Action World-Star updates.
• Check route confirmation.
• Ensure refrigerant replenishment (in accordance with instruction to dispatch) and Removal in transit (RIT) Management.
• Ensure export compliance (CAA/Customs).
• Source export adhoc airline rates.
• Request charges from vendors (truck hire, DG packaging etc).
• Alert domestic agent – overnight shipments, include delivery instructions.
• Resolve export delays (customs, DAFF etc).
• Imports
• Prepare and submit import paperwork. Low & high value (includes consignee brokers).
• Submit Airline management System (AMS).
• Monitor customs progress.
• Resolve import delays (customs queries/stops, DAFF, DoH etc).
• Ensure compliance with import authorities.
• Enter World Star updates.
• Ensure refrigerant replenishment instructions are carried out (passed onto dispatch).
• Africa imports (shipment instructions), packaging and temperature monitor recovery.
• Request charges from vendors (truck hire, DG packaging etc).
• Ensure import regulations are met (DoH, DAFF, etc).
• Dispatch
• Scheduling driver management for deliveries, collections.
• Prepare for packaging and temperature monitoring.
• Check and record vehicle checklists / daily fuel slips / service and repair bookings.
• Complete fridge / freezer checklists.
• Gel pack preparation process & monitor stock levels.
• Monitor GTC cleaning records.
• Ensure temperature monitor management.
• Packaging and temperature monitor recoveries.
• Monitor GTC daily checklist (JNB/CPT/DUR).
• Ensure refrigerant replenishment.
• Action World Star updates.
• Complete dry ice orders.
• Carry out stock recon.
• Knowledge and Skills

The successful candidate will have:
