Cape Town based Business Research & Marketing Associate Position

We are a Mergers and Aquisitions firm, NOT Analytical firm or Marketing agency !

Candidate should have 1 to 5 years of work experience in a business environment. Research associates at Woodbridge play a key role supporting various strategic and client marketing projects while working closely with the US and European team.

Core responsibilities include:

• generate global marketing lists for sell-side mandates and business development
• identify buyers in both core and related industries globally
• analyze client industries by gathering information about trends, transactions and competitors
• research using a variety of databases, online trade resources and google searches
• create a targeted hot list for each mandate
• assist in finding correct contact, email, LinkedIn for each hot list company
• combine lists from all sources, remove duplicates and prepare for client review
• contribute to Woodbridge’s overall marketing-driven process

Please note that while this role does require strong numeracy skills, it does not include financial analysis or modelling.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 to 5yrs experience
• a critical and creative thinker, with innate curiosity & a passion for data search
• detail-oriented
• strong verbal/written communication skills
• ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• team player
• must already live in Cape Town
• strong skills in MS Office Suite (Especially Excel)
• efficient

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM platform
• Familiarity with S&P Capital IQ, Hoovers, Avention, IbisWorld or other business research tools.
