Job description

Position purpose:

• To manage the spending of member funds by means of clinical interventions and managed care protocols.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• dealing with Psychiatric and General Case management requests.
• assist on the call centre when the need arises
• ensuring clinical approval of authorised treatment plan
• ensuring the cost effective management of authorised treatment plan
• ensuring appropriate and cost effective out of hospital care for members
• performing quality updates of system to ensure correct payments of treatment
• attending to High Level Queries and ex-gratia updates
• meeting delivery objectives through working with other team members within and linked to the department / project
• resolving operational performance variations and problems and escalate unresolved issues to higher levels
• ensuring delivery targets/objectives are met and operate in a supportive manner to achieve successful delivery

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years Psychiatric Nursing experience in the Private/Public Sector
• Experience in Psychiatric Case Management will be an advantage

Qualifications:

Professional Registered Nursing Sister with valid up to date registration with the South African Nursing Council
