Job description

Role Purpose

• Build, extend, enhance and maintain features on our Web offerings.
• Collaborating with designers and product management to create great web user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical implementation, integration and customization of our client’s proprietary CMS to client web sites / applications.
• Diagnose and debug issues.
• Participate in application testing, documentation and deployment.
• Architect software solutions and determine current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selection of new concepts and methodology, and development of major routines and utilities.
• Subscribe to a rapid development methodology.
• Measure overall increase in search usage.
• Measure increase in search usage relative to visits to our site offerings.
• Measure overall coverage of search (total potential targets).
• Measure number of specific enhancements / changes made to improve the quality of results.
• Analyze failed searches and identify and structure content needs.
• Build controlled vocabulary and thesaurus entries; focus on elaborating the vocabulary and the relationships/inheritance systems amongst the terms.
• Work closely with web-driven data (i.e. worst performing keywords) to improve/enhance/expand and to associate with proper nodes of the taxonomy, specific to Web audience.
• Enhance our Platform offering (Web)
• Data mapping of keyword dictionary to nodes and noun modifiers.
• Support analytics and profiling efforts for data enrichment and enhancement efforts.
• Partner with Subject Matter Experts to validate controlled vocabulary expansion and mappings.
• Gather insights from multiple data sources and makes informed decisions to improve performance of search.
• Architect software solutions and determine current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selection of new concepts and methodology, and development of major routines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12
• IT Degree or Diploma
• 3-5 years demonstrated development experience.
• 3 years C# experience a must
• 2 years MVC experience a must
• 2 years C# API experience a must
• Ability to participate in a cross-functional team environment.
• Knowledge of RDBMS, preferably MS SQL.
• Front end knowledge HTML5, JS and CSS, as well as Web usability.
• AngularJS and/or KnockoutJs Required
• Experience working in a Test Driven/Agile Development environment.
