Truworths, one of South Africa’s leading clothing retailers, is offering an amazing opportunity for a skilled PR Officer within the Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

• PR & EVENTS
• Create brand awareness through appropriate marketing opportunities
• TV Sponsorships
• Management of brand influencers – seek new influencers that are brand appropriate
• Preparation of ROI documents for any PR activities
• Write and distribute Press Releases and kits as directed
• Monitor, review and report on PR coverage received
• Event coordination – book venues, arrange entertainment, contract & price negotiation, arrange agenda/coordinate content for events, book travel requirements
• Management and tracking of budgets
• SOCIAL MEDIA
• Develop a social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement
• Collaborate with design teams to plan and develop social media content
• Create and execute Social Media campaigns
• Plan content and delivery on social media channels
• Provide insights about current and upcoming Social Media trends
• Develop and manage competitions
• Management and tracking of budgets
• WEBSITE
• Collaborate with design teams to plan and develop site content
• Maintain the content on the websites
• Carrying out quality assurance checks on content

DAILY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for planning Digital initiatives to support campaigns/content/marketing calendars
• Research and source partners/influencers (bloggers etc), create relationships and build media databases
• Search social insight to rank partners/influencers in accordance to brand objectives
• Develop communication plans with budgets, schedules, priorities, responsibilities and briefs; identifying key influencers (such as blogs, social media profiles, potential partners etc.) that will help increase brand visibility
• Liaise with various business departments to coordinate different events including booking venues, contract & price negotiation, content and agenda planning
• Create presentations across a variety of mediums and present comfortably in front of various audiences

Requirements

• 2-3 years PR/Digital experience
• 2-3 years event coordination experience
• Strong communication/relationship building skills
• Strong copywriting skills/writing for online audiences
• Understanding of how to develop media relations
• Drive, competence, flexibility and a willingness to learn
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
• Ability to cope with pressure
• Creativity, imagination and initiative
• Excellent teamwork, analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Business awareness and a good knowledge of current affairs.
• Comfortable to present in front of a variety of audiences
