    IT Systems & Knowledge Management Analyst

    Job description

     

    Lacuna is currently witnessing growth and is looking for an individual to pro-actively and independently develop processes to create, share, use and manage our knowledge and information with fluidity throughout the organisation. The successful candidate will work together with the team, employing their unique IT-based skillset and understanding of cloud-based systems, infrastructure and processes to deliver world-class inspiration on a full-time basis.

    Areas of Involvement:

    • A focus on technology and IT systems that enhance knowledge sharing and creation
    • Organisational process design as well as the management and maintenance of implemented systems and procedures
    • An ecological focus on the interaction of people, identity, knowledge, and environmental factors as a complex adaptive system 

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Promote knowledge sharing through the organisation's operational business processes and systems by, among others, strengthening links between knowledge sharing and the information systems, and improving integration among information systems in the organisation, to facilitate seamless exchange of information across systems
    • Inform the organisation of key areas of improvement, best practice techniques and new technologies
    • Design and implement IT and communications infrastructure needed to improve communication across the organisation; including but not limited to IT hardware, VOIP and telephonic systems and teleconferencing
    • Identify complementary collaborative tools, cloud-based technologies and document management systems as a means to establish a solid infrastructure
    • Make use of workflow tools to represent processes associated with the creation, use, and maintenance of organisational knowledge
    • Introduce enterprise portals, eLearning and integrated project management tools to improve efficiencies across the organisation
    • Influence the adoption of tools used to facilitate sharing of ideas and work among internal teams and external partners 
    • Provide support to the team, including troubleshooting and one-on-one guidance 
    • Maintain communications on knowledge sharing across the organisation, through orientation and training sessions, and the preparation of presentations and guides
    • Help monitor and evaluate the knowledge sharing program, as an iterative process, including external benchmarking and evaluation programmes/opportunities

    Secondary Responsibilities (we foster an ‘all hands-on deck’ culture): 

    • Maintain a global perspective on future of business and advances in technology
    • Ensure that efforts are consistent with the organisation’s overall strategic view, budget and consistent delivery of high quality deliverables 

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Qualification in Industrial Engineering, Information Technology or related field of study
    • +- 2 years in a related role
    • MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint experience is a pre-requisite
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience, as well as Adobe Suite tools, will be considered an advantage
    • Advanced understanding of Cloud-based and Open-source solutions
    • Familiarity with developing and delivering knowledge sharing systems
    • Experience in establishing effective partnerships within and outside the organisation

    Characteristics and Skills:

    • Analytical thinking and decisive judgment - analysing issues and problems systematically
    • Understanding of the end-user of a product and the ability to communicate complex concepts in layman's language
    • Independent and autonomous aptitude with a diligent, self-motivated and organised approach to work
    • Ability to work within a networked team structure in a high-performance project-based environment
    • Self-managed, able to multi-task and contribute to multiple projects
    • Innate curiosity about the world, an understanding of technology and processes
    • Interprets constructive feedback to inform business practice
    • Commitment to results; when there is a will, there is a way
    • Lateral, creative thinking capability
    • Superb interpersonal skills, well-spoken and tactful
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Confident with new tasks, eagerness to take on new roles and responsibilities
    • Deadline driven and detail orientated
    • Positive attitude and a willingness to “roll your sleeves up”
    • Workplace professionalism blended with a good sense of hu
