Main Purpose:

Protect and manage profitability as well as risk mitigation for the Solutions business unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifying financial and commercial risks and assisting the business to mitigate those risks.
• Assisting business to manage costs by ensuring all costs are recovered from customers.
• Assisting business from a procurement perspective by ensuring that procurement is done from approved/preferred suppliers, reviewing and negotiating supplier agreements, prices and terms as well as providing input to the Solutions Engineering Team on current prices for standard items to be used in new costing solutions.
• Commercial support and guidance to business on various commercial/legal matters.
• Insurance administration on behalf of the business unit and liaising with DSVi on i.e. annual insurance renewals and cell captive administration.
• Contract Management & Review,
• Review RFQ/tender documents and ensure legal review by legal counsel as per DSV Contract Review Policy.
• Review and negotiate customer contract/lease agreement terms and conditions with the assistance of legal counsel and Commercial Manager.
• Review and negotiate contractual liabilities and risks with input from Operations Director and Operations GM’s as well as DSV Insurance and Commercial Manager.
• Assisting Operations with financial reporting & budgeting as and when required.
• Reporting – Responsible for monthly Commercial Summary report, Corporate Governance Report, Claims and Losses and upcoming contract renewals.
• Record keeping – all contracts to be filed as per document retention policy and registered with DSV Global Legal.

Additional Computer Skills:

Business Intelligence Tools.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.
• B.Comm Commercial Law and/or Financial Accounting Major.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a combination of the following:

• Experience in drafting, negotiating & enforcing commercial contracts (customer, supplier and lease agreements).
• Experience with financial and contractual risk management, including insurance claims.
• Experience in having worked in an accounting department.
• Knowledge and experience in general ledger processing and financial reporting.
• Own vehicle with valid, unendorsed code 8 driver’s license.
• Ability to travel locally when necessary.
• Ability to work overtime.
