Job description

Purpose of the job:

Responsible to manage the production plant within the operation in order to achieve the operational objectives of the budgeted quantities, qualities and cost effectiveness in a safe manner. Responsible to manufacture bread to the right specifications and quality – on time and in full

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the Production Process
• Ensuring that the production process is cost effective
• Ensuring that products are produced on time and are of good quality
• Managing of the human and material resources needed for production
• Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
• Responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment
• Monitoring product standard and implementing quality-control programmes
• Liaising with different departments to achieve business goals
• Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
• Management of production teams as well as motivating teams to achieve business goals
• Manage Industrial Relations in the Production department

Qualifications:

• Must have a three (3) year relevant degree / diploma
• Minimum of 2 – 5 years production experience
• Certificate in Chamber of Baking
• Must be computer literate, Microsoft Package
• Must have engineering design knowledge
• Must be familiar with continuous improvement processes

Experience:

• 2 – 5 years FMCG experience (specifically bakery industry experience)
• Previous Engineering experience

Be prepared to extended hours, shifts, weekends and public holidays from time to time
