    QA Paintshop Engineer

    Job description

    PURPOSE / DETAILS OF THE JOB
    To ensure continuous vehicle quality according to set standards and processes.
    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum qualification: N Diploma/ B-Tech: Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering
    • 5-10 years Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering experience in the Automotive Industry

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Monitoring of paint quality processes.
    • Bumper plant measurements and carry out tests.
    • Paint shop defects prevention.
    • Implementation of quality standards inside the Paint shop.
    • Introduction of new colours.
    • QA matrix control.
    • Market issues – Paint claims
    • Paint shop - QIB ( Quality Image Breaker )audits and CRCR (Concern Report Countermeasure Request) Control
    • Horizontal deployment (LLR) control
    • Monitoring plan coordination
    • Teardown coordination
    • Safety compliance

    MAJOR ACTIVITIES

    • 4M Change activity & new NEM ( Nissan Engineering Manual) conformity
    • Participate in paint projects: monitor & report project progress & milestones
    • Conduct E-Coat & Wax teardown audits as per NEM and when required
    • Paint quality process conformity
    • Evaluate & continuously improve current Paint Shop processes to ensure alignment with best practices
    • Continuous liaison with all Paint Shop CFTs (Cross Functional Teams) /stakeholders including management in quality assurance issues
    • Raise CRCRs for paint quality process violation or non-conformity
    • Generate Inspection Standards
    • Conduct quality/technical investigations & analysis
    • Conduct bumper measurement audits and follow up on non-conformances

    • Automotive manufacturing processes - vehicle assembly
    • Paint quality processes
    • Quality tools/ Analysis tools
    • Lean manufacturing
    • ISO 9001:2008
    • Computer literacy
    • Identify the principal legal requirements affecting quality of products, services and quality
    • Understand the roles and responsibilities of the different sections within the division
    • Ability to assess the risk factors associated with a projecT
    • Ability to compile and implement risk / contingency plans
    • Ability to assess issues or factors which may effect planning
    • Understand Nissan's strategic objectives and how they relate to your job
    • Ability to plan and manage meetings
    • Ability to identify problems and change them into opportunities
    • Take decisions which are realistic for the situation
    • Ensure that performance is of such a quality that it is measurable against established critical success indicators
    • Monitor work activities and take corrective action to ensure requirements are being met
    • Recognise the importance of regular reviews of activity and rescheduling of work to achieve planned objectives
    • Evaluate actual practice against procedure in order to identify discrepencies
    • Identify the types of information which require to be treated confidentially and the procedures to follow
    • Audit internal manufacturing quality and performance management
    • Ability to perform in a variety of familiar/unfamiliar contexts
    • Ability to determine appropriate methods/procedures in response to a range of concrete problems
    • Self-directive with broad guidelines
