Job description

Purpose:

To perform independent, objective assurance and consulting activities to add value and assist Capitec Bank accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management control and governance processes.

To Perform and/or supervise staff on IT Audits including IT General and Application control reviews

Requirements:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Internal Audit / Information Technology / Business Analysis / Statistics / Mathematics is essential
• 5 years in an Internal Auditing environment with emphasis on a complex multi-platform IT environment, with specific experience in:
• General controls, application controls review
• Defining of control objectives to support business processes and the assessment of both system and manual controls which exist or are needed to meet the control objectives
• Experience in conducting IT Security Audits (beneficial)
• Practical experience using COBIT 5

Good knowledge of:

• Frameworks (i.e. COBIT, ITIL, ISF, etc)
• System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management
• At least 1 years’ experience in IT or Information security would be beneficial

Experience in Planning and managing audit engagement as well as Project management processes, methodologies, tools, controls and risks is preferred

• Internal audit standards and methodologies
• Information systems audit standards and methodologies
• Risk management principles and practices
• IT Security principles, practices and methodologies (beneficial/ preferred).

Preference will be given to:

• A relevant graduate and/ or post graduate degree (i.e. Honours Degree in Commerce / Information Systems / Auditing)
• 5 or more years of relevant working experience in the IT Audit Field (e.g. IT Internal Audit, IT Audit/ Advisory with External Audit or Consulting Firm)
• Solid IT Security experience (1 or more years practical experience) would be beneficial
• Hold one or more of the following certifications (or similar relevant certifications):
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
• ISO 27001 Certification (beneficial, but not required)
• Completion of articles with audit firm with specialized focus on IT audit (beneficial; not required)

Knowledge of:

• Teammate audit software
• Continuous Auditing principles
• Agile project methodology
• IT Security Tools, such as Sekcheck, Nessus, etc. (Beneficial)
• Ability to work in an open plan environment
• Clear credit & criminal record
