Job Description

A leading international resources company, is looking to employ a Chief Geologist for one of their major operations in the Copper Belt of the DRC

Responsibilities
- Ability to manage entire mine geology and grade control function of mine
- Management and leadership of geological staff, including training and mentoring of technical staff
- Comprehensive input into strategic and short time mine planning, with alignment to relevant geology and mineral resources optimizations
- Develop, maintain and reconcile grade control systems and procedures
- Manage the grade control staff
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- BSC Hons Geology - Minimum
- 15 years’ experience in open pit mining
- 5 years’ experience as a Chief Geologist
- Solid working experience with Surpac or other mining software packages
- Experience working in Africa, preferably in copper mining or other base metals
