Establish infrastructure systems that seamlessly support the business operations of the company.
Evaluate existing or emerging technologies for applicability to the overall enterprise architecture.
Identify key issues and limitations of the existing architecture and develop long term target architectures and plans.
Identify opportunities to standardize enterprise systems, and develop a strategy to implement necessary changes.
Plan, design and upgrade various infrastructure components to include but not limited to network hardware, server hardware, enterprise software and applications, voice and data systems
Specialise in the best practice design, operations, and support of enterprise systems; such as Network Architecture, Storage Architecture, Information Security, PCI and Windows Architecture.
Evaluate existing or emerging technologies for applicability to the overall enterprise architecture through technology proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
Develop enterprise system architectures and strategies that include high availability, reliability, and accessibility for the organisation.
Must be able to create a conceptual vision of the solution in the form of a conceptual architecture diagram and document that depicts the overall structure of the solution in its environment showing with primary functions of the solution and the other systems it has to interact with.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for troubleshooting in their area of expertise to isolate, diagnose and implement corrective actions for problems and issues as required. Solve complex problems with many variables
Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various infrastructure projects.
Adhere to a version control process which includes the documentation, approval and implementation of system changes.
Serve as an escalation point for complex issues that arise during the day to day operations of the company. These will normally, but not always be escalated from Service Desk, Server and Network Administration teams
Create and maintain documentation for all enterprise systems.
Maintain quality standards on all projects.
Has a good appreciation of risk management, change management, configuration management, reliability and safety methods and the use of metrics
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to understand, design and define strategy and execution of strategy and tasks
Combines technical competence with business and commercial acumen and mature communications skills
Strong communication skills to both technical and business audiences
Proven track record for thinking beyond current-state technology issues and integrating technologies for complete solutions across the enterprise infrastructure
Ability to provide objective and impartial technology, platform, tooling assessments and recommendations, ensures compatibility with strategic technology
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and at least 5 years’ experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience supporting technical support teams, design and building infrastructure technology solutions.
