    Health, Safety and Environment Technician

    Job description

    Tasks

    As a Health, Safety and Environment Technician, you will be responsible to contribute to effective risk management and improving Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance in respective area of responsibility. The main function/task for this position is to assist in the coordination of the effective risk management and improving Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance in the RM organization, this includes but is not limited to the following: - Your Tasks as a Health, Safety and Environment Technician will include the following:

    • Regulatory compliance: Supports managers and employees to ensure area of responsibility is compliant with HSE standards, regulations and guidelines. Prepares safety instructions and notices and assists with relevant training.
    • Risk management: Conducts HSE audits and workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and risks and highlights corrective measures required.
    • Operations: Supports implementation of HSE objectives, incident investigations and root cause analyses within the respective organization. Preparation of site safety files.
    • Continuous improvement: Collects, analyses and reports on HSE performance, identifies problems and makes suggestions to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
    • Communication and engagement: Collaborates with managers and employees in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment for HSE initiatives and performance.

    Requirements

    Ideally you will have a Senior Certificate or related HSE qualification coupled with minimum 3 to 4 years of working experience in a HSE environment. Your ability to understand HSE requirements, work under pressure, handle stress, to use own initiative, proven organizational skills, analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, as well as excellent writing skills along with some proficiency in MS office will make you an ideal match for this role.
