Section Head: Imports at PEP

Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage all payments and maintain good supplier relationships related to imported goods and services; and to ensure that final product landed costs and gross profits are calculated accurately and timeously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the operational performance of the finance imports team
• Drive innovation to improve current process and systems of the department
• Manage payments of trade and import related overhead creditors for imports (in foreign and local currency)
• Manage supplier, bank and suspense account reconciliations of the finance imports department
• Manage the analysis and reporting around standard cost variances.
• Manage required accounting journals (manual and automated) for the department
• Manage financial year-end, internal and external audit responsibilities with regards to the finance import department
• Facilitate the continuous development of team members
• Management reporting and other ad hoc tasks/projects

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

• A relevant Accounting Degree or Diploma
• 3-5 years relevant experience in an financial environment
• 2 – 3 years Supervisory experience
• AGA (SA) or similar qualification would be an advantage
• Previous experience dealing with imports will be advantage
• Computer Literacy: MS Office knowledge with excellent Excel skills
