    Assistant to CFP (Broker Assistant) a

    Job description

    Essence of the job:

    To administer and assist with all matters relating to the processing of application forms for investments and risk assurance as well as dealing with Group Employee Benefits, assisting with individual client portfolios.

    MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administer client investment and risk portfolios
    • Processing telephone, fax and emailed instructions, redemptions, transfer and switches for onshore and offshore funds for clients. Products include, Investments (local and offshore)
    • Preparation of, application forms, proposals and excel spreadsheets
    • Administering all functions from application of an investment through to receipt of the contract. Preparing comparative quotes with different Insurance companies for long term insurance products.
    • Controlling, collecting and maintaining records and data relating to client portfolios
    • Preparation of reports, agendas, presentations and spreadsheets for internal meetings and meetings with clientsPreparing quotes, application forms, and files for each client
    • Processing Section14, Section 37 and Section 42 transfers
    • Ensure that all FICA and FAIS documents are compliant
    • Liaising with various investment companies
    • Processing of new investments (local and offshore)
    • Employee Benefits (corporate and individual clients)
    • Liaising with clients, IFA’s (independent financial advisors) and internal customers and responding to queries on time and diligently

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school senior certificate Essential
    • Diploma desirable
    • Undergrad desirable

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • 3 years or more if possible
    • Previous administrative experience - essential
    • A minimum of 3 years’ exposure to the financial/insurance sector - essential
    • Work experience within an insurance, investment or asset management environment or current / previous work experience at a financial advisory company or brokerage
    • Product knowledge and understanding i.e. life cover, disability, retirement annuities, endowments, preservation funds, pension, provident funds, living annuities and medical aid
