Role Purpose

Managing the finance service offering for Money Management by providing professional and ethical financial practices and services that support business decision-making and performance.

Responsibilities and work outputs

• Providing business leaders with insight regarding the interpretation and explanation of financial analysis, forecasts and scenarios in order to guide business decision making for the business
• Delivering accurate and relevant management information that will assist key stakeholders in decision making
• Delivering financial analysis and forecasting that provides value-adding insight
• Developing business finance policies, procedures and processes in line with Group Finance frameworks
• Keeping abreast of trends, legislation and best practices within the accounting field and industry in which the company operates in order to optimise service offering and delivery
• Driving the development and implementation of tools that allow for increased, efficient analytical capabilities and that allow business leaders to understand key financial issues in a timely and effective manner
• Collaborating with business leaders to formulate short and long-term financial objectives
• Assuming responsibility for finance work streams within various projects to ensure that financial implications and financial feasibility of new business initiatives and projects have been considered and implemented
• Tracking, measuring and analysing strategic value drivers on a monthly basis and highlight areas of
• concern or risks in the business, including recommended management action to relevant stakeholders
• Managing revenue and expenses effectively to optimise profitability
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivables function to improve cash flows and ensure sound financial controls
• Engaging and leading the development and implementation of processes, systems and controls
• Overseeing the accuracy, validity, completeness and authorisation of financial information and financial processes
• Managing the execution of financial aspects of contracts and verify that all financial commitments listed in agreement are met based on the terms written in the contract
• Supporting the preferential procurement process and provide management information and insights regarding suppliers
• Managing continuous improvement efforts by managing the identification of opportunities, cost reduction, improvements and systems enhancement
• Contributing to the audit process and resolve any audit queries within deadlines.

Experience and Qualifications

• Qualifications BCom or equivalent qualification in Accounting;
• Honours degree or equivalent qualificationin Accounting;
• Registered accountant with South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) (preferred)
• Experience A minimum 2 years' post article experience;
• Knowledge of accounting principles, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Tax Act, Companies Act and risk management principles; Experience in Banking, specifically Retail Deposits (an advantage); and/or Knowledge of the Rewards & Loyalty, Financial Services and Insurance industry; and applicable regulatory requirements and legislations.
