    Accountant

    Job description

    Role Summary

    We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for more exposure within the Payroll/HR area. As the successful incumbent, you will be tasked with providing information and support to HR, Finance and the broader business. You will play an important role within the payroll and HR functions, and will specifically be tasked with the following:

    Tasks and responsibilities:

    • Good accounting skills, in a payroll environment will be an advantage
    • Very strong aptitude for reconciliations
    • Manage the staff debtors book and debt collection
    • Assist with payroll interfaces to the GL and costing
    • Have very good data analytic skills
    • Provide accurate and consistent management information and statistics both internally and externally,
    • Assist with data analysis and reporting
    • Assist with processes relating to system upgrades, including reviewing release notes, formulating and running system tests, troubleshooting, etc
    • Very good technical skills and an aptitude and flair for systems
    • Good report writing skills using a BI Tool

    Skills and requirements:

    • A BCom or 3 year Accounting related qualification, with at least 5 year’s working experience in a Finance or Payroll Accounting area;
    • Excellent technical skills will be advantageous;
    • Computer literate (MS Office Suite), excellent excel skills and preferably have knowledge of the Oracle EBS;
    • Must have a flair for systems;
    • Excellent data analytical skills
    • Must be able to work in a highly pressurised and deadline driven environment.
