Senior Electrical Technologist at Aurecon

Overall Purpose:

Aurecon’s Energy Unit based in Tshwane is seeking an experienced Electrical Technologist to join our team offering a full design and consulting service to our clients across the African continent with a specific focus on industrial projects including mining, petrochemical, water, ports and harbour and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design of low and medium voltage electrical networks,
• Compilation of technical specification, design drawings, technical datasheets and Bill of Quantities,
• Design and Specification of Motor Control Centres and associated schematic designs,
• Low voltage cable sizing and cable route designs,
• Project coordination and interface management with other engineering disciplines and
• Site inspections during construction of the electrical infrastructure.

Key Requirements

• B-Tech in Electrical Engineering,
• 10 years’ experience on the design of Motor Control Centres and low voltage networks,
• Experience in low voltage equipment specification, with attention to developing detailed wiring diagrams, cable schedules and general arrangements drawings,
• Prior experience in electrical design of mining and manufacturing plants,
• Cost Estimates for electrical equipment,
• Well experienced in the Consulting and Mining environment,
• Experienced in working in multi discipline teams,
• The candidate is expected to be able to work independently and provide guidance to younger engineers and
• Commissioning experience of Low Voltage Motor Control Centres.
