Scope Of Responsibilities

Shift Sups are experienced individuals who lead, coach, motivate, monitor employees and see the running of the packing operations to ensure outputs within the agreed budget, quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coach the Packing team, mentor and drive performance, resolve conflict, manage absenteeism, develop succession and personal development plans.
• Maintain and control all areas of GMP, occupational health safety and hygiene as well as food safety and HACCP.It involves ensuring that BOS’s and risk assessments and investigation reports are timeously conducted and submitted as required.
• Ensure that equipment is timeously maintained and efficiencies are achieved above 88%.
• Ensure full conformance to quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain effective, timeous and correct planning and reporting as required.
• Implement, and continuously improve department processes and standards to ensure alignment, compliance, and to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain and implement the daily and weekly packing plan to achieve 95% conformance to schedule.
• Minimize Bulk and Packaging losses
• Implement, manage and drive efficiencies in both Packing and Mixing.
• Set, standardize and monitor key processes to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Implements and drive plans to correct and address any issues and or non-conformances identified identifying root cause analysis and oversees specific corrective action plans.
• Ensure that the Rehydration system is running effectively and efficiently all the time.
• Timeous closure of Process Orders on SAP system and ensuring that bulk and packaging returns are done.

Prior Learning And / Experience Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Production Management or Operations Management
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production environment
• 3 years supervisory experience
• Experience In The Food Manufacturing Industry Is Essential
• Knowledge of OHS, BCEA, LRA principles is critical
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
• Assertive and results orientated
• Excellent numeracy skills
• Willing to work overtime as and when required
• Ability to perform well in a stressful environment
• Computer literate (MS Office, SAP Proficient)
