Job description

Seeking an analytical, driven individual to analyse and interpret business challenges and requirements through the application of various statistical analysis techniques. This incumbent will need to provide continuous technical and analytical statistical support to the business as well as to mentor and coach junior team members to ensure understanding and application of best practices/principals.

Responsibilities:

• To identify and understand the nature of business problem and assist the various business areas in defining information requirements
• Analyse, design and propose solutions to the business problem
• Provide the business with relevant outputs/ information for rectification of the business problem
• Provide support and guidance to end-users; assist users with data mining and predictive modeling, and creating statistics
• Develop own knowledge and skills in the area of statistical analysis and in relation to the business in order to be able to operate independently within the function

Requirements:

• Relevant 3-year degree with a major in Mathematics / Statistics (advantage will be given to someone with a post-graduate degree major in Mathematics / Statistics)
• Min 2 years’ experience in Statistical Analysis/Quantitative role
• Experience must include the following using a data warehouse:
• Data analysis
• Information management
• Knowledge management
• Data mining and/or predictive
• Advanced MS Excel
• Programming skill: SAS or SQL
