PURPOSE

Technician to do on-site support for CCTV/Access control and Cabling

EDUCATION

(Minimum level required to perform the job)

School  Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• MUST HAVE CERTIFICATION i.e. Molex, Krone, Panduit, etc. beneficial.
• Must have relevant least 2 – 3 years’ data cabling experience.
• Must have CCTV & Access Control installation certification/experience
• Knowledge on Hickvision/Unis an advantage
• Must have a clear criminal record and a driver’s License & own reliable transport
• Able to assist with standby after hours
• Must be customer focused and have effective productivity/work output
• Complete job cards and sign stock receipts as required / change requests
• Good understanding of networking and equipment fundamentals (Ethernet, Cabling standards, TCP/IP).
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Understanding of desktop operating systems.
• Experience supporting network equipment and operating systems
• Self-motivated, precision worker that takes pride in work
• Own Transport

KEY TASKS

• Installation / service of commercial CCTV systems.
• Support Access Control and CCTV Customers on-Site.
• Support & Maintenance of any Cabling faults on-Site
• Troubleshooting and repair of various systems.
• Able to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Knowledgeable of power tools and most hand tools.
• Familiar with some basic computer programs.
• Site maintenance; Installations and commissioning of equipment
• On-site technical support Access control equipment.
• Must have a good knowledge of IP CCTV setup, install and fault finding.
• Basic network Knowledge
• Provide quality support service on site (client facing) and remotely.
• Responsible for the collection and replacement of CCTV hard drives from designated coaches
• Troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions as well as network issues as it relates to the CCTV & Access Control system
• Utilize software to connect to various network devices for CCTV downloads
• Document & manage all changes
• Communicate effectively with engineering and other technical groups to enhance Customer products and resolve customer issues.
• Ensure all implementations follow agreed Security Standards and Policies, escalate and manage deviations through to completion.
• Contribute to continuous technical process improvement.
• Execute administrative procedures associated with above tasks.
