Job description

The incumbent will be responsible to use a range of tools and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment to operational standards.

Minimum Requirements ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric certificate (Grade 12)
• N3 – N5 Fitters Certificate – Qualified at the Olifantsfontein Training Centre would be an advantage

Experience

• Must be a Qualified Fitter and Turner / Turner with Red Seal
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pumps
• Hydraulic Cylinders
• Garboxes
• Clutches
• Fit and Replace Bearings and O-Rinhgs
• Making of spares for broken components
• Operating lathe and milling machine
• Working on induction Heater as well as bearing heater
• Align in-feed conveyer belts
• Fitting of taper lock pulleys and belts
• Fit sprockets and chains
• Fitting of electrical motors
• Repairs on dust plant
• Repair on oscillator and moulds
• Check temperature of machines
• Replace hydraulic hoses and cylinders on furnace deck
• Change slipper pads on rougher roller
• Operating of forklift and overhead gantry crane
• Repair of NC, CNC, Hydrolics, Milling, Lathes and drilling machines
• Willing to work nightshift

• Knowledge and understanding of Safety procedures related to production process

• Must be prepared to work shifts
