    Mid level / Senior Graphic Designer

    Job description

    The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years working experience in a relevant/similar environment and fully understand the various production processes, be able to coordinate with external parties (clients, suppliers and service providers), and be able to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.

    • Strategy & Management
    • Research and reference technologies and processes applicable to various tasks. Reference material weekly to stay on top of design trends and inspire team
    • Mentor, Supervise & Manage – junior designers, freelancers or interns
    • Quality Control – maintain quality checks on all material
    • Brand architecture & collateral
    • Branding and Corporate Identity – develop, establish, follow and update brand guidelines and manuals for all 3 companies
    • Marketing Collateral - design and oversee production of all promotional material, including but not limited to books, brochures, digital presentations, presentation boards, signage, Architectural Project Boards etc. Keep all marketing collateral updated with latest material (internal & external)
    • Websites - knowledge of web standards, best practice and technologies to maintain company websites in terms of content, design, development and functionality updates – knowledge of CMS like WordPress is essential (other platforms advantageous).
    • Image Editing including photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop as well as resizing and optimizing of images and PDF’s for use in different applications
    • Stationery & Office Supplies - Produce and maintain company related stationery for digital and print. Provide relevant design solutions and print specifications with accurate price quotes to meet budget and brief requirements.
    • Ad hoc/Impromptu in-house design projects – As requested by the various stakeholders.
    • Media publicity
    • Press packs – Design and produce press packs for distribution to media. Involves editing of images to directors’ standards and layout of the documents.
    • Magazine advertising and feature layouts
    • Social media
    • Working knowledge of various social platforms and relevant editing skills as per established guidelines and procedures
    • Produce images and videos for use on the various social media channels
    • Industry engagements
    • Prepare award submissions as briefed in by the media team
    • Prepare collateral for use in exhibition, speaker opportunities, etc
    • Direct marketing
    • Email / Digital Campaigns – Design digital newsletters as briefed in by the media team (MailChimp)
    • Internal communications
    • Layout and design of the in-house Quarterly (book)
    • Design of graphics needed for internal/company activities, including but not limited to Design Friday, team building, end of year awards and function

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CRITERIA

    • Excellent Repro and retouching knowledge.
    • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
    • Keen eye for graphics and design.
    • Ability to accurately understand and interpret instructions.
    • Possess sound knowledge of graphic design methods, typography, and the general principles of layout and design.
    • Understanding of the production process, including applications of different file formats.
    • Software Skills must include the latest Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Lightroom, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
    • The ability to learn and demonstrate creative problem solving skills.
    • Able to set and achieve deadlines and give regular updates on progress.
    • Methodical, accurate and consistent attention to detail.
    • Good organisational skills.
    • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
    • Able to remain calm and work in pressurised environments.
    • Self motivated and able to take responsibility.
    • Demonstrate initiative and be pro-active towards daily tasks, good sense of self-management.
    • Able to build good relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
    • The nature of the work will require occasional additional hours as necessary, this may include weekends.
    • Team player
    • It is essential to have advanced working knowledge of:
    • Adobe CC 2017 Suite ( Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, LightRoom, Premiere, AfterEffects and Acrobat DC )
